By 2017, Staffordshire University will be known as
one of the leading business and employer-facing
universities.
Our increasingly active partnerships will support
our commitment to the Staffordshire Graduate,
will drive revenue from knowledge exchange and
workforce development activities and will ensure
that the University is creating demonstrable impact
on the competitiveness of business and the success
of the local economy.
We will achieve these goals by:
Creating a highly effective structure for the
development and delivery of knowledge exchange
and workforce development activities to businesses
and employers.
Ensuring that businesses and employers are driving
the University’s commitment to employability,
enterprise and entrepreneurialism, influencing the
design of a range of innovative enterprise activities,
a portfolio of entrepreneurship skills and continuing
professional development that meets the needs of
all staff and students.
Improving graduate employability, employment
and career development opportunities for students
by ensuring that links with businesses of all types
generate job opportunities, placements, internships,
work-based assignments and volunteering
opportunities which are accessible for all students.
Ensuring that the business voice is enriching the
curriculum, supporting scholarship and staff and
student engagement with businesses, enabling
collaboration with employers on workforce
development, course design and the
co-development of products and services.
Contributing to the UK’s long-term economic
growth and prosperity by creating new businesses
and investing in our own portfolio of high growth
companies, growing the value of our intellectual
property and demonstrating our economic impact
through innovation, job and wealth creation.
Ensuring that our applied research and knowledge
transfer activities are business and commercial
focused and delivering impact and revenue for
the University.
