Role: <strong>to</strong> be accountable <strong>to</strong> <strong>DEFRA</strong> for project outputs and<br />
expenditure; <strong>to</strong> manage the project team; <strong>to</strong> progress the aspirations<br />
of the Steering Group between meetings; <strong>to</strong> develop and commission<br />
external studies envisaged in the bid.<br />
DRIVE<br />
PATHFINDER COMMUNICATORS GROUP (press<br />
officers and other public facing officers)<br />
Meeting informally/virtually <strong>to</strong> co-ordinate<br />
communication <strong>to</strong> the wider public and presentation of<br />
project outputs and learning.<br />
COMMUNICATE<br />
PATHFINDER STEERING GROUP (28 members - all partners identified in bid document plus additional<br />
community representatives)<br />
Role: <strong>to</strong> give guidance and direction <strong>to</strong> the Pathfinder Executive; <strong>to</strong> co-ordinate the activities of project<br />
partners; <strong>to</strong> provide forum for learning and exchange of information; <strong>to</strong> discuss and develop sustainable<br />
solutions <strong>to</strong> issues raised by coastal change.<br />
STEER<br />
DELIVER<br />
Pathfinder project task and finish groups if required (<strong>to</strong> be<br />
established by appropriate combinations of partners only if necessary<br />
for delivery of projects)<br />
Role: <strong>to</strong> deliver individual projects or groups of projects within the bid<br />
which require significant co-ordinating effort and involve multiple<br />
partners.<br />

6 x Pathfinder Forums (elected representatives, community leaders,<br />
businesses and residents in each of the 6 communities identified as a<br />
focus for activity)<br />
Role: <strong>to</strong> bring <strong>to</strong>gether stakeholders from within the 6 communities, <strong>to</strong><br />
express community concerns and aspirations and <strong>to</strong> inform the<br />
development and implementation of Pathfinder activities.<br />
