The macrobiotic practitioners on the Internet claim to be<br />

free, but it is a very strange sort <strong>of</strong> freedom!<br />

Mishio Kushi, a leading macrobiotics practitioner, says:<br />

“We lead our life in a simple modest way, eating<br />

macrobiotically and develop a spirit <strong>of</strong> gratitude to<br />

everyone and everything. This way, it becomes easy<br />

to attain the order <strong>of</strong> the infinite universe which is<br />

our life itself--eternal and everlasting” (Kushi Institute<br />

literature and promotional materials, quoted from<br />

The Hidden <strong>Age</strong>nda, p. 108).<br />

This is obviously a pagan philosophy that is contrary to<br />

Scripture. Observe that he is thankful to “everything” but<br />

not to the Almighty Creator God, and he believes that<br />

everlasting life is gained by a macrobiotics lifestyle<br />

rather than through faith in Jesus Christ. This is a false<br />

gospel, and the child <strong>of</strong> God should have nothing to do<br />

with it.<br />

Macrobiotic counselors diagnose their patients through<br />

iridology and other bogus methods.<br />

Dr. David Sneed describes a woman named Bonlyn Walls<br />

who began delving into macrobiotics after visits to a<br />

<strong>New</strong> <strong>Age</strong> food store. She says, “For one thing, I was<br />

looking for a low-sugar diet. And I liked vegetables and<br />

fruits and whole grain foods” (The Hidden <strong>Age</strong>nda, p.<br />

103). There is nothing wrong with these foods, <strong>of</strong> course,<br />

but the problem is that she was gradually drawn into<br />

occultic idolatry. She says:<br />
