2005 Highlights: Outdoor
- Finished in third place in
the decathalon with 5,912
points at the PSAC Championships
to earn All-PSAC honors.
Coach’s Comments: His third-place conference
finish as a freshman decathlete was a pleasant
surprise. It foreshadows Justin’s great potential
in the combined events.
Dave Tidey
Coach’s Comments: A senior, Dave has been
a solid middle-distance performer for us, as well
as a team leader. He will finish his career with an
outstanding senior season. He should help make
this year’s 4x800 one for the record books.
Steve Tyson
SOPHOMORE
Bridgeport/Upper Merion
Major: Chemistry
Honors: 2004-05 KU Male
Rookie of the Year
2005 Highlights: Indoor -
Never finished below third
place all season in shot put.
First place at PSAC Championships in shot put
put (50-11 1/2). Placed first in the shot put at
the Lock Haven Qualifier with an NCAA provisional
distance of 52-8.
Coach’s Comments: A true scholar-athlete.
Steve deals with organic chemistry labs, throws,
runs and lifts all in the same afternoon. He should
make it to Nationals this year in the shot, and he
should become a scorer in the weight, hammer
and discus as well.
Dan Wilde
JUNIOR
Lemoyne/Cedar Cliff
in first place with season-best time in the 3000m
steeplechase at Lehigh (9:46.81).
Coach’s Comments: His great dedication to running
and tremendous work ethic will put Dan on
the scorer’s stand this season. His leadership
abilities are invaluable to the growth of our distance
program.
Dan Wilson
Finished 11th at NCAA Championships in javelin
(193-11). Career PSAC Championships
- 2005 outdoor javelin.
Coach’s Comments: Returning conference
champ in the javelin, Dan will be off to a slow
start after resolving some knee problems this fall
and winter. Added strength should pay off with
another trip to nationals.
Steve Winters
Steve should turn some heads with his vaulting.
