MEETINGS: First Saturday of every month at 1 p.m. unless otherwise announced.
Arrangements are in progress for moving our meetings to places be- sides
the Kankakee Public Library. A notice will appear in the Dateline section
of the Daily Journal the Sunday and Friday before each meeting. Coffee
and cookies are served and visitors are we come. August and December are
noon potluck meetings.
MEMBERSHIPS:
$10.00 per calendar year (January 1st thru December 31st. All members
are entitled to have their ancestor charts and family histories
published in the THE-A-KI-KI and put on file at our library. All surnames
are also included in our Surname Index card file. Members also receive
four (4) issues of the THE-AKI-KI per year.

SYNOPSIS OF MEETINGS
May 3, 1986
We currently have 61 paid members. The Kankakee Public Library now has a micro computer.
We were asked if we would be willing to purchase the Apple software "Family Roots" at
an approximate cost of $185. With this computer the Society will start indexing all
newspaper vital statistics. The Society will purchase this software. Members assisted
in filling the Freebie Bags for the June Workshop.
June 7, 1986
We currently have 69 paid members. We made $51.95 on baked goods at the Strawberry
Festival. Due to inclement weather, the program on Tombstone Rubbings had to be
cancelled. Hopefully we will be able to reschedule this fall.
