BioFlo ® 110 Components & Vessel Accessories
Septum - installs in a 12mm headplate port to enable additions
by syringe, such as inoculum.
Baffle Assembly - a removable assembly of flat stainlesssteel
panels that protrude from the fermentor vessel wall to
createturbulence in the media, improving mixing and aeration
ofvessel contents. Baffles are not used with shear-sensitivemammalian
or insect cells.
Foam Trap - this liquid trap installs between the exhaust
condenser and filter to catch liquid that inadvertently passes
through the condenser.
Tri-port Adapter - a three-addition fitting that requires only
one 12 mm headplate port.
Angled Autoclave Rack - reduces the autoclave chamber
height requirement by cradling 7.5 & 14 L vessels off the vertical.
Probe Adapter - retains 12 mm probes with a headplatemounted
compression fitting that won’t "bake" onto the
probe surface. Allows continuous penetration-depth adjustment.
Sparge Ring - a headplate mounted air-inlet tube. The immersed
end forms a perforated ring that sits directly beneath
the impeller blade tips for efficient oxygenation.
pH/dO2 Controller Kit - includes one pH/dO2 controller, pH
& dO2 probes sized to the vessel, adapters and cables.
How To Order BioFlo 110 Kits
Fermentor:
1. Determine your requirements:
• Select an Advanced or Basic Fermentor
(Advanced kits include a more complete array of controls
and accessories. See Kit Contents on page 42)
• For Advanced Fermentors, choose temperature control
using heat blanket with cooling coil, or water jacket with
heater
• Select Vessel Size & Voltage
2. Order the Part Number corresponding to your choices from
the tables on page 43
Optional
3. Add a Gas-Mix Controller to Advanced and Basic Fermentors
if you want the ability to blend oxygen with the sparge air.
4. Add a Thermal Mass Flow Controller if you want automated
control and digital display of the gas flow rate on your PCU.
5. Order Up to Three Additional Vessels for use with the Primary
Control Unit included with your fermentor. Choose from the
Add-A-Vessel Kits on page 43. (Kit contents listed on page
42)
6. For each additional vessel, order one Power Control Unit (for
temperature, agitation and pump power outlets), plus Controllers
& pH/D.O. Controller Kits as desired on page 44.
Bioreactor:
1. Determine your requirements:
• Agitation Drive: magnetic-coupled or direct-coupled
• Temperature Control using heat blanket with cooling coil, or
water-jacket
• Vessel Size & Voltage
• Impellers: spin filter with marine blade, marine blade, or
pitched blade
2. Order the Part Number corresponding to your choices from
the tables on page 44
Optional
3. Add a Thermal Mass Flow Controller if you want automated
control and digital display of the gas flow rate on your PCU.
4. To run more than one vessel from the Primary controller included
with your bioreactor, choose from the Add-A-Vessel
