2 Beta radiation shielding<br />
2<br />
Beta radiation shielding protects against low energy Beta rays. They reduce the radiation exposure when using<br />
isotopes such as 32P, 14C or 35S to values below the designated limit. It is proven that <strong>protection</strong> equipment made of<br />
acrylic with a density of 1.15 g/cm³ and a material thickness of 6.9 mm effectively stops Beta particle radiation.<br />
These products have a thickness of minimum approx. 10 mm and therefore offer the best <strong>protection</strong> against low-level<br />
Beta radiation.<br />
Label "Caution: Radioactive material" in German supplied with every article.<br />

Acrylic does not provide <strong>protection</strong> against x-rays or gamma radiation.<br />

Benchtop beta shield<br />
Made of transparent plexiglass.<br />
With angled top. Firm and stable. One-piece construction. 10 mm thick.<br />
Large base prevents radioactive substances from reaching the benchtop and transmitting radiation downwards<br />
through the work surface.<br />
