For more than two decades following the
fall of the Iron Curtain, Romania has gone
through a shifting process from the old
structures to the democratic and capitalist
paradigm of the west. Its transitional
economy, a slow but steady process,
is being reflected in people’s lives as well
as in the country’s landscape. Along with
local or foreign investors the exchange of
services, goods or people is taking place as
years pass by.
Transit series is an ongoing project,
started in the summer of 2012 and bound
to be finished in 2013, about the small city
of Fetesti situated between Bucharest and
country’s biggest port Constanta. As an
important railway junction,
once a highly developed agricultural
area with a solid infrastructure and a
continuously changing present, the city
is a small scale image of Romania’s
economical and political landscape.
