MEET OUR MEDICAL EXPERTS<br />
Jennifer Collins, MD, an Assistant<br />
Professor of Allergy <strong>and</strong> Immunology at<br />
The <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> <strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong> <strong>Infirmary</strong>,<br />
provides comprehensive care in all areas<br />
of allergy <strong>and</strong> immunology for children<br />
<strong>and</strong> adults. Her clinical interests include<br />
aspirin allergy, asthma, allergic rhinitis,<br />
cough, chronic sinusitis, chronic urticaria<br />
(itching), drug allergy, eczema, food<br />
allergies, <strong>and</strong> immunodeficiency.<br />
An honors graduate of James Madison University in Virginia,<br />
Dr. Collins received her medical degree from the Medical College<br />
of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. After residency in Internal<br />
Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> City, she<br />
completed a fellowship in Allergy <strong>and</strong> Immunology at the Albert<br />
Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx.<br />
Dr. Collins has published several papers <strong>and</strong> abstracts as well as<br />
oral presentations at national allergy <strong>and</strong> immunology meetings.<br />
Her research interests include the prevention of asthma in<br />
young children, chronic urticaria, chronic sinusitis <strong>and</strong> allergic<br />
bronchopulmonary aspergillosis.<br />
She is an active member of the chronic sinusitis committee for<br />
the American College of Allergy <strong>and</strong> Immunology, as well as a<br />
member of a number of professional societies including the<br />
American Academy of Allergy, Asthma <strong>and</strong> Immunology, the<br />
American College of Allergy, Asthma <strong>and</strong> Immunology, <strong>and</strong><br />
the American Medical Association.<br />
Paul Ehrlich, MD, is a pediatric <strong>and</strong> adult<br />
allergist in <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> City on staff at The<br />
<strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> <strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong> <strong>Infirmary</strong>. He is<br />
also affiliated with <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> University<br />
School of Medicine where he is Clinical<br />
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, <strong>and</strong> Beth<br />
Israel Medical Center in the departments<br />
of pediatrics <strong>and</strong> medicine.<br />
Raised in <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong>, Dr. Ehrlich graduated<br />
from Buckley Country Day School <strong>and</strong><br />
The Taft School. He received his AB from Columbia College at<br />
Columbia University <strong>and</strong> his MD from <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> University<br />
School of Medicine. He trained in pediatrics at Bellevue <strong>and</strong><br />
University hospitals at NYU <strong>and</strong> did his fellowship in immunology<br />
<strong>and</strong> allergy at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Ehrlich is<br />
board-certified in pediatrics <strong>and</strong> allergy/immunology.<br />
He is the author of numerous medical articles, co-authored<br />
Warner Books’ What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Your<br />
Children’s Allergy <strong>and</strong> Immunology, <strong>and</strong> most recently was<br />
published as a chapter author in Essential Clinical Immunology,<br />
edited by Dr. John Zabriskie at The Rockefeller University <strong>and</strong><br />
published by Cambridge University Press.<br />
Dr. Ehrlich has been named as a top doctor of pediatric allergy by<br />
<strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> Magazine over the past ten years, including 2009.<br />
Jonathan A. Feistmann, MD, Assistant<br />
Professor of Ophthalmology at The <strong>New</strong><br />
<strong>York</strong> <strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong> <strong>Infirmary</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong><br />
Medical College, provides consultations<br />
for all diseases related to the macula, retina<br />
<strong>and</strong> vitreous, including diagnostic imaging,<br />
intravitreal injections, lasers, <strong>and</strong> surgery.<br />
His clinical interests include macular<br />
degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal<br />
detachment, posterior uveitis, sutured<br />
intraocular lenses <strong>and</strong> trauma.<br />
Dr. Feistmann graduated with honors with a BS in Chemistry<br />
from the University of Florida, where he also completed medical<br />
school <strong>and</strong> ophthalmology residency. He then did a retina<br />
fellowship at <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> <strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong>. He is a member of<br />
numerous professional societies including the American Academy<br />
of Ophthalmology <strong>and</strong> the Association for Research in Vision<br />
<strong>and</strong> Ophthalmology. He has been published <strong>and</strong> has presented<br />
his clinical research at international meetings. He also is a clinical<br />
instructor for the retina service at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospitals.<br />
Mark N. Goldstein, MD, FAAP, FACS,<br />
is a pediatric otolarlyngologist who has<br />
been affiliated with The <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> <strong>Eye</strong><br />
<strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong> <strong>Infirmary</strong> since 1986 <strong>and</strong> practices<br />
on both Upper East Side of Manhattan<br />
<strong>and</strong> Williamsburg. He has a particular<br />
interest in ear <strong>and</strong> hearing problems, sinusitis,<br />
<strong>and</strong> breathing problems including<br />
snoring <strong>and</strong> sleep apnea in children.<br />
A graduate of the Boston University<br />
School of Medicine, he completed his residency in Otolaryngology<br />
at the Boston University-Tufts University Combined Program in<br />
Otolaryngology, including Children’s Hospital Boston, <strong>and</strong> held<br />
an appointment on the faculty of Harvard Medical School. He<br />
has academic affiliations at <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> Medical College <strong>and</strong> <strong>New</strong><br />
<strong>York</strong> University School of Medicine.<br />
Dr. Goldstein has lectured internationally <strong>and</strong> published in his<br />
field <strong>and</strong> participates in the teaching programs at The <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong><br />
<strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong> <strong>Infirmary</strong> <strong>and</strong> Long Isl<strong>and</strong> Jewish Medical Center.<br />
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (having<br />
served on the Executive Committee of the Section of Otolaryngology<br />
<strong>and</strong> Bronchoesophagology), the Society for <strong>Ear</strong>, Nose <strong>and</strong><br />
Throat Advances in Children (SENTAC), the American Academy<br />
of Otolaryngology, <strong>and</strong> the American College of Surgeons.<br />
He has been recognized as a “Best Doctor” in several physician<br />
guides for the <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> region.<br />
Gregory Levitin, MD, FACS, is Assistant<br />
Clinical Professor in the Department of<br />
Otolaryngology at The <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> <strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>Ear</strong> <strong>Infirmary</strong> <strong>and</strong> provides comprehensive<br />
care for children <strong>and</strong> adults in all areas of<br />
Otolaryngology/Head <strong>and</strong> Neck Surgery<br />
in both the Williamsburg <strong>and</strong> the<br />
Columbus Circle (Manhattan) satellite<br />
offices. Dr. Levitin's areas of expertise<br />
include endoscopic sinus surgery, allergic<br />
<strong>and</strong> chronic sinus disease, snoring <strong>and</strong> obstructive sleep disorders,<br />
tonsil <strong>and</strong> adenoid disease, <strong>and</strong> voice disorders.<br />
Dr. Levitin graduated summa cum laude from the University of<br />
North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After receiving his medical degree<br />
from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, he<br />
completed residency in Otolaryngology/Head <strong>and</strong> Neck Surgery<br />
at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> City. Prior to<br />
joining The <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> <strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong> <strong>Infirmary</strong>, Dr. Levitin was an<br />
Attending Physician in the Department of Otolaryngology at St.<br />
Luke's-Roosevelt Hospitals.<br />
In addition to being board certified by the American Board of<br />
Otolaryngology, Dr. Levitin is a member of several professional<br />
organizations, including Fellow of the American College of Surgeons<br />
(FACS), Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head<br />
<strong>and</strong> Neck Surgery, <strong>and</strong> a member the American<br />
Medical Association. He has authored several book chapters, journal<br />
articles, <strong>and</strong> abstracts, <strong>and</strong> has presented nationally in the field<br />
of Otolaryngology.<br />
Alex<strong>and</strong>er Rabinovich, MD, is an oculoplastics-trained<br />
ophthalmologist at The <strong>New</strong><br />
<strong>York</strong> <strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong> <strong>Infirmary</strong>. He specializes<br />
in surgery of the eyelids, orbit <strong>and</strong> lacrimal<br />
system, as well as facial cosmetic surgery.<br />
Dr. Rabinovich graduated with honors<br />
from Binghamton University with a BS in<br />
Biochemistry <strong>and</strong> completed his medical<br />
education at Upstate Medical University in<br />
Syracuse, NY. He did his surgical transitional<br />
year at Flushing Medical Center <strong>and</strong> completed his ophthalmology<br />
training at St.Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospitals in NYC<br />
where he served as a chief resident in his last year of training. He<br />
then completed his ophthalmic plastic <strong>and</strong> reconstructive surgery<br />
fellowship at Boston Medical Center.<br />
His areas of interest include repair of droopy eyelids, in-turning or<br />
out-turning of lower lids; evaluation of tearing <strong>and</strong> tear duct disorders;<br />
excision of lesions <strong>and</strong> reconstruction of eyelids; evaluation<br />
<strong>and</strong> repair of orbital fractures; diagnosis <strong>and</strong> management of tumors<br />
of eye socket, <strong>and</strong> evaluation <strong>and</strong> treatment of thyroid eye<br />
disease. He also specializes in variety of cosmetic procedures such<br />
as removal of wrinkled eyelid skin <strong>and</strong> bulging fat, Botox injections<br />
for treating unwanted creases <strong>and</strong> wrinkles, <strong>and</strong> cosmetic<br />
fillers for facial lines <strong>and</strong> lip augmentation. Dr. Rabinovich is a<br />
member of American Academy of Ophthalmology <strong>and</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong><br />
State Ophthalmological Society <strong>and</strong> he has presented his clinical<br />
research at various ophthalmological meetings.<br />
Stimson Schantz, MD, is NYEE’s Director<br />
of Head <strong>and</strong> Neck Surgery <strong>and</strong> Oncology.<br />
Comprehensive, cancer treatment of the<br />
head <strong>and</strong> neck uses a multi-disciplinary<br />
team approach of board-certified surgeons,<br />
medical <strong>and</strong> radiation oncologists, nutritionists<br />
<strong>and</strong> rehabilitation specialists such<br />
as speech/swallowing therapists <strong>and</strong> physical<br />
therapists to insure rapid recovery from<br />
complex, life-saving surgical procedures.<br />
Dr. Schantz is trained as both a head <strong>and</strong> neck surgeon <strong>and</strong> a<br />
basic science researcher. A graduate of Harvard, he received his<br />
medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, did surgical<br />
residencies at Georgetown University <strong>and</strong> the University of<br />
Illinois <strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong> Hospitals. He subsequently completed a<br />
fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of Texas M.D.<br />
Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Schantz has been the Director of<br />
Head <strong>and</strong> Neck Oncologic Research at M.D. Anderson Hospital,<br />
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, <strong>and</strong> The <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong><br />
<strong>Eye</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Ear</strong> <strong>Infirmary</strong>.<br />
Author of more than 250 scientific publications, he is also a<br />
recipient of several grants from the National Institutes of Health<br />
<strong>and</strong> chaired the first international symposium in head <strong>and</strong><br />
neck research.<br />
