HEARING ASSISTANCE DEVICES
We now have available hearing assistance devices
for parishioners to borrow during Mass to make it easier to
hear the service. We have eight wireless devices which can
be borrowed from an usher for the duration of the Mass. The
devices should be returned at the end of Mass.
The wireless device requires an earphone or head-set
to accompany it. These items connect to the wireless device
and can be purchased with a $10 donation. The earphone or
head-set is kept by the parishioner and should be brought to
Mass each week for use with the borrowed wireless device.
Please see an usher if you wish to use the hearing
assistance device.

Fast and Abstinence
and other Acts of Penance for Lent
The Bishops of the United States prescribe that all
individuals age 14 and older are bound to abstain from
eating meat on Ash Wednesday, all Fridays in Lent and on
Good Friday. Further, all persons age 18 and older up to age
59 are bound to fast to limiting themselves to single full
meal on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday and the other two
meals on those days are to be light.
All faithful are encouraged, when possible, to
participate at Mass and receive the Holy Eucharist daily, to
celebrate frequently the Sacrament of Penance, to undertake
spiritual reading, especially the study of Sacred Scriptures,
and to participate in parish Lenten devotions as well as
Lenten education programs. Adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament is especially recommended.
All are encouraged to participate in “Operation
Rice Bowl,” which has aided countless hungry persons in the
Archdiocese as well as throughout our nation and world.

Our Lady of Guadalupe 55+ Club
The OLG 55+ Club is a new social service club in our
parish. All parish members age 55 and older are welcome to
attend our monthly meetings. Since its beginning a few
months ago, the 55+ Club has grown to over 35 members
and is planning many interesting events.

A Memorial Legacy
A Memorial Legacy is a special opportunity for parishioners
and friends of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish to memorialize
or commemorate specific items and areas within our new
church in observation of their special intentions. These items
can take the form of artistic, structural, liturgical, devotional,
or functional aspects of the building. In recognition of their
thoughtfulness and generosity, donors of memorial gifts and
the people whom those gifts honor will be honored on a
permanent plaque located in the Narthex, or vestibule, of our
new church.

historic Papal Mass on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Since
1998, Mr. Fernandez has organized and led over 18 trips to
Cuba. Trip includes roundtrip air from Florida to Havana
(does not include air fare to Florida), bus transfers to and
from airport to hotel, five-star hotel accommodations, breakfast
and dinner each day and transportation to Papal Mass.

GUARDIANS OF GUADALUPE

The Guardians of Guadalupe meet each Wednesday following

one hour, the “guardian angels” help with light
