this umbrella that this exhibition was made<br />
possible. Irish artists have travelled abroad<br />
and the work <strong>of</strong> many European artists is<br />
being exhibited in Ireland, in many cases<br />
for the first time. Art has always been<br />
international - opening up new territories<br />
for artists and audiences. Art critic, Simon<br />
Schama has stated that ‘art, like memory,<br />
is never truly solid’ and it is hoped that<br />
Kaleidosocope has created an awareness<br />
<strong>of</strong> current visual art practice in Europe<br />
demonstrating that the visual arts continue<br />
to flourish and excite.<br />
