Leaving a Legacy
C. Carlisle and Margaret Tippit lived lives focused on
serving their community - a legacy that will long survive
both of them. Even after losing her husband in 2003,
Margaret continued her involvement with several charities
throughout the country until she passed late last year.
Known by family and friends as Tip and Margie, they
were beloved parents, grandparents and philanthropists.
Tip and Margie traveled the world, touring 190 countries
together. They were blessed with five children and 21
grandchildren.
In addition, they were strong supporters of Arnold
Palmer Hospital, giving through a variety of planned gifts
including charitable trusts and life insurance to create a
philanthropic legacy that will continue for many years.
Charitable trusts are an excellent way to provide income for
you and your family, receive significant income and estate tax
benefits, and create a lasting legacy at Orlando Health.
Life insurance provides an opportunity to make a
meaningful yet relatively low-cost gift, it offers immediate
tax benefits and supports the life-saving work of our
hospitals.

Hospital,” says John Bozard, president, Arnold Palmer
Medical Center Foundation. “We are honored that the
Tippits chose our mission to support during their lives
and appreciate their use of planned giving, which will
continue providing support for generations of children at
Arnold Palmer Hospital.”
Tip and Margie will both be deeply missed by the Arnold
Palmer Medical Center Foundation.
Securing the Future
through Endowment
Many of Orlando Health’s programs and facilities require continuous charitable funding to support their operations. As
a donor, choosing to establish a permanent endowment can help ensure that the future needs of these costly yet critical
programs remain available to our community.
An endowment is a permanent fund established to benefit an institution for a specific purpose chosen by the donor. In an
endowment fund, the principal is invested and only a portion of the investment earnings are spent. The rest of the earnings
are directed back into the fund, so that the endowment grows over time, becoming a perpetual source of funding for whatever
the donor wishes to achieve.

instructors from ORMC’s former nursing school return
each year for an alumni reunion. The special weekend brings
together nurses from the many graduating classes of the
School of Nursing that operated at ORMC from 1921 – 1973.
As graduates of our former nursing school,
these individuals are an extension of our
family and an important part of our history.
Their dedication, training and service laid the
groundwork for the excellence in nursing for
which Orlando Health is well known. Today,
more than 4,000 nurses help to carry out our
mission at Orlando Health.
