Board Meeting Minutes
October 20, 2011
Meeting called to order at 7:35
pm on October 20, 2011 at Lee
Stubbert’s house. Board members
in attendance: Randall Wilson, Jane
Sherrill, Lee Stubbert, Scott Sterling.
Absent: Chris Golden and Judy
Ranson. One homeowner attended.

meeting were approved and are

Treasurer’s Report: September
financial statements were reviewed.
Three homeowners have not paid
2011 dues and two never paid
2010 dues. Board approved moving
monies from savings to checking to
cover bills due in November as the
fiscal year ended October 31st and
dues from the new fiscal year have
not been collected yet.
Block Watch: A volunteer is needed to
chair the block watch group for next
year. Please contact Chris Golden if
you are interested. Our two parks
are for Forest Estates residents and
their accompanied guests only. No
digging of any kind is allowed. Both
parks close at dusk. Please remind
your kids the parks are open during
daylight hours only and report any
trespassing after dusk to the King
County Sheriff.
Architectural: No new requests for
approval received. A reminder to
Forest Estates Homeowners that
all roofs, fences, retaining walls,
additions to homes and exterior
painting must be pre-approved by
the Architectural committee prior
to commencement of project. The
Architectural Control Form is
published in every edition of the
Fairwood Flyer, is also on our website
or you may contact Architectural
committee chair Chris Golden to
obtain a copy. The forms must be
signed by two members of the Forest
Estates board to be valid.
CC&R: The yard cleanup of one
home that has been unoccupied
for several years was completed by
our landscaper. Another home in
disrepair had a new roof installed after
a successful short sale. The board
reminds all homeowners that they are
responsible for general maintenance
of the curb and sidewalk adjacent to
their homes. Please contact a board
member with any CC&R compliance
concerns.
Landscaping: The traffic islands will
all have one more clean up before
the end of the year.The contract
with our current landscaper was
renewed for 2012 at the same cost
as last year. A second bid for possible
removal of trees in the Big Toy park
was received. Randall will obtain
one more bid. The broken basketball
stand post in the park will be dug up
and removed. Several homeowners
have volunteered to help with a few
repairs to the Big Toy structure.
Chris will coordinate. The board
asked for an estimate of repair costs
before the work is initiated. Randall
will investigate improved solar lights
for the entrance. If you have any
common area landscaping concerns,
please contact a board member.
2012 Budget: The 2012 budget was
approved. The FEHOA annual
meeting is scheduled for Thursday
November 3rd at 7:00pm at Nativity
Lutheran Church. 17707 140th
Ave SE Renton. All homeowners
interested in volunteering for the
2012 board are encouraged to
attend the Oct board meeting and/
or contact a board member to have
your name added to the ballot for the
annual meeting on Nov 3rd.
New Board Member: The board voted
to add homeowner Duane Jones to
the board effective immediately.
2012 Board: The current board
is looking for volunteers to come
forward for 2012. The board must
have a minimum of three and
maximum of nine members. This
is your opportunity to join all the
past board members and committee
volunteers that have helped keep
Forest Estates a desirable community
in which to live. Many of your
neighbors have already contributed
by serving in the past. Is it your turn
now? Please call or email a current
board member to put your name on
the list for 2012.
