The silver screen sets sail
aboard the Star of India

Snuggle under the stars aboard the historical Star of
India and watch some favorite maritime movies. If
you’ve seen some of these classic films before, you
can gain a new perspective by watching their mirror
images. Half of the audience will see the film the way
it was intended, while the other half watches it projected
backwards on the reverse side of the specially
designed screen sail.
Friday nights are Date Nights on the Star of India,
and you must be 18 or older to board. A full bar is
available for guests over 21. (No grog is served on
Family Nights.) In addition to popcorn and soda, they
offer New England clam chowder to make your movie
experience a seafaring adventure. Even though it’s
summertime in sunny San Diego, bring a blanket for
those chilly nights on the water.
Tip: Order tickets by calling ahead. For if ye be not on
the Captain’s Manifest, ye might have to walk the plank.
