1. The Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship
Qualifications: College-bound high school seniors may apply. Students must have a GPA of
3.0 or higher. Student must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating
in community services or other extracurricular activities. Student must be in financial
need.
Application: Application available in guidance. Other documents are required which you
will see on the application.
Amount: 3-5 scholarships are given worth $2,500 each

2. Gilbraitti Scholarship
Qualifications: High school senior attending college in the Fall of 2013. Must complete the
application and essay.

3. Odenza Marketing Group Spring Award
Qualifications: High school students who hold a GPA of 2.5 or greater. Student must

4. 10 Words or Less Scholarship
Qualifications: High school seniors who will be attending college in the fall of 2013.
Application: Go to www.facebook.com/myscholarships
On the left hand side of the page you will find an area entitled "10 Words or Less
Scholarship". In the comment sections underneath the “10 Words or Less Scholarship”
answer the following: In 10 words or less, tell us why you deserve the $500 scholarship.

5. BBG Communications 2013 Scholarship
Qualifications: High school seniors with plans to enter college in the fall of 2013. Students
must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

6. Virginia Farm Bureau Rural Health Essay Scholarship Contest
Qualifications: Essay Scholarship Contest is open to any high school or college student
from a county Farm Bureau member household.
- Typed Essay of no fewer than 400 words, titled “My Future Career in Rural
Health In Virginia”
- Official entry form and resume
- Must be planning to work in a health related fields

8. Beacon Wealth – Shining Lights Scholarship
Qualifications: The Shining Lights Scholarship is intended for high school seniors or
current college students that plan to attend a college or university as a committed
Christian.

- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on an unweighted 4. 0 scale
- 500 word –essay describing how you have been or plan to be, a Shining Light on
your college campus and in your community
- Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a pastor
- A copy of the first two pages of your parent’s most recent Form 1040.

9. New River Community College Scholarship
Qualifications: The NRCC Educational Foundation awards scholarships to qualified persons
planning to attend New River Community College.

Qualifications: Applications are now open for dedicated seniors both in and out of the
classroom. Those who drive a positive change in their communities.

17. Virginia Bankers Association Bank Day
Qualifications: StellarOne will once again participate in the Virginia Bank Day Program.
StellarOne Bank plans to host several events March 13 through March 22 nd . On these days,
Virginia High school seniors spend a day in banks across the Commonwealth learning
about bankers and their duties.

personal freedom, initiative, calculated risk-taking and a free enterprise system. The

Qualifications:
Applicants pursuing a post-secondary degree at a two or four-year college or university.

Note: Applicants must submit an additional essay demonstrating his/her ability to
overcome adversity and strengthened thereby. Please title and mention the name of this
scholarship in your essay.
