EDITOR'S NOTES
This volume ofthe ASC <strong>Series</strong> on Strategic Management is a special
edition in commemorating <strong>The</strong> <strong>Ary</strong> <strong>Suta</strong> <strong>Center</strong> 4 th Anniversary.
It presents II papers, which can be classified into five areas of
discussions.
<strong>The</strong> first area of discussion is the validity of the results based on a
sample for predicting something in the future, including to predict
the 2014 president candidates, or to make a general conclusion. It is
important to the readers to understand the limitation of all statistics
computed based on a sample survey, which could be a.manipulated
value. <strong>The</strong> second area ofdiscussion is on the leadership challenges in
Indonesia, which are related to the wave ofcorruption, the corruption
conditions in the era of SBY, moral intelligence and leadership
performance, as well as positive or negative thinkers in the society. It
is stated in the past, while campaigning SBY always carried the theme
"war against corruption". Now, has he proved his promised? Many
cases ofcorruptions, that shows how weak SBY as a leader. <strong>The</strong> third
area is the importance of creativity and innovations in order to have
strong and sustainable economic development. It is stated that one of
underlying rationales for having creative and innovative economy is
to face and manage changes in the world economy. <strong>The</strong> forth relates
to capital market development, which presents the history, growth,
and strategic development of the mutual fund, so that the readers,
investors in particular, can have a better understanding on mutual
fund history. And the fifth relates to the global warming. <strong>The</strong> changes
ofglobal warming, is discussed by comparing the observed facts and
theoretical scientific knowledge on the effects of human activities
and what should be done to face it.
<strong>The</strong> ASC <strong>Series</strong> will be published four times each year. For further
