Research Interest<br />
1. <strong>Physics</strong> and applications <strong>of</strong> spin coherence <strong>of</strong> NV centers in diamond<br />
Electron spin decoherence mechanisms <strong>of</strong> Nitrogon-Vacancy (NV) centers in diamond;<br />
Controlling and preserving NV center electron spin coherence by dynamical decoupling<br />
methods; Quantum information processing schemes using NV center electron and nuclear<br />
spins in diamond; NV center-based high-resolution and ultra-sensitive magnetometry<br />
and magnetic resonance imaging and their chemical and biological applications.<br />
2. Spin decoherence and dynamical decoupling in other solid systems<br />
Electron spin decoherence mechanism in solid-state systems such as quantum dots,<br />
donors in Silicon, and radical spins in organic crystals; Quantum many-body theory<br />
for central spin dephasing and relaxation in finite spin baths; Observable effects <strong>of</strong><br />
many-body correlations <strong>of</strong> solid-state bath spins though the central spin coherence.<br />
