Canada Day
Monday July 1, 2013
Each year PMV participates in the City of Pickering’s
Canada Day Celebrations. We are looking for volunteers to
help with the museum village’s demonstration!
History in Action Saturdays
Saturday July 6, 13, 20, 27, 2013
(10:00 am to 4:00 pm)
History in Action Saturdays continue in July! Have you
learned a skill in one of our workshops that you’d like to try
out? Volunteers are required for Saturdays between 10:00
am and 4:00 pm to demonstrate a variety of skills. You must
confirm availability 2 weeks prior to the date with the Event &
Volunteer Programmer.
Kids in the Village
Thursday July 4, 11, 18, 25, 2013
(9:30 am to 12:30 pm)
This public program features heritage games and crafts for
children. Volunteers are required to help participate in the
games portion and to assist with the craft portion of the
program including set-up and clean-up. Volunteers will be in
volunteer t-shirts for this program.

Advisory Committee
The PMV Advisory Committee is comprised of members
representing the City Council and various segments of the
community, especially those relating to education and
business. The committee makes recommendations to the
Division Head, Culture & Recreation, regarding the operation
of the museum village. Committee members are appointed
by Council and hold terms of office for three years.
Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk. Visit

PMV Foundation
The Pickering Museum Village Foundation is the fund-raising
extension of PMV. It supports the City of Pickering in
successfully completing capital projects. Volunteers are
needed to assist with fundraising from helping with bingo, to
helping at the Fall Family Festival. Members of the Board
are nominated and hold terms of office. Visit PMVF.ca for
