Christmas Bake-<strong>of</strong>f<br />

Sunday December 1, <strong>2013</strong><br />

(9:00 am – 4:00 pm)<br />

Love to bake? We need help doing our Christmas baking!<br />

We bake Welsh, oat cakes, Christmas puddings,<br />

gingerbread cookies for the Christmas in the Village event<br />

and some preserves to sell in the Gift Shop.<br />

Christmas Craft Club<br />

Saturday December 7, 14, <strong>2013</strong><br />

(9:00 am to 12:00 pm)<br />

Youth volunteers are required to assist with this public<br />

program, this includes playing games, helping children with<br />

craft, program set-up and clean-up. This program takes<br />

place at the <strong>Pickering</strong> Recreation Complex over 4<br />

consecutive Saturdays.<br />

Christmas in the Village, Winter in the Woods<br />

Sunday December 8, <strong>2013</strong><br />

(10:00 am to 4:00 pm)<br />

Scottish Hogmanay, Welsh Christmas traditions,<br />

Temperance House, an English Victorian Christmas, 1910<br />

General Store and early Settlers at the lean-to, all performed<br />

in first person. Attending the Christmas in the Village<br />

rehearsal on December 1, <strong>2013</strong> is mandatory for<br />

participation in this fun event, as family relationships and<br />

mini plot lines will be developed.<br />

This booklet highlights the various volunteer opportunities<br />

that are available at the <strong>Pickering</strong> Museum Village. If you<br />

are not already a volunteer you must fill in a volunteer<br />

application and go through the interview process.<br />

Applications are available at the museum village or online at<br />

pickering.ca/museum.<br />

An email will be sent out quarterly to volunteers to find out<br />

availability for upcoming events, workshops, or other<br />

opportunities. If your contact information changes please let<br />

the Event & <strong>Volunteer</strong> Programmer know as soon as<br />

possible.<br />
