Pioneer offers an exciting range of optional audio-visual products that can be used in combination 

with the AVIC-X1. Thanks to the Dual Zone function, different sources can be played for the front 

and back — up to 3 different sources at once! Front and rear seat passengers can each enjoy their 

own form of entertainment, so there’ll be no more fighting over what to watch. The many 

possibilities are outlined below. 

• Watch TV on the channel of your choice with the GEX-P6400TVP PAL TV tuner, or GEX-6100TVP PAL TV tuner (to 

be used with AVR-W6100 display). 

• Play a multiple selection of DVD-Videos from the XDV-P9-II multi-DVD player. 

• Rear displays: 

- AVD-W6200 or AVD-W8000: Enjoy in-car audio-visual entertainment on either one of these wide-screen LCD 

colour displays. 

- AVR-W6100: This 6.5-inch wide-screen display can be mounted to the ceiling of your car for the viewing 

pleasure of your rear seat passengers. For listening privacy, use the SE-IRM250 IR headphones with the 

AVR-W6100. 

• Rear view camera ND-BC1: Hook up the rear view camera to keep an eye on the road behind you as well! The 

AVIC-X1 automatically switches to rear view whenever you put your car into reverse — very useful to help you 

park. Use the AVIC-X1’s exclusive split-screen mode to combine the view behind your car with the navigation 

map. 

• Add a CD changer (CDX-P1270, CDX-P670) to enjoy more of your favourite music.

So much to see and do, so little time! Pioneer’s 2004 DVD map disc now contains over 1.3 million Points of Interest (POI) in 65 different categories 

ranging from restaurants to hospitals plus much more. If you’re looking for a particular place, destination searches by place name or category make 

it easy to find. Or if you suddenly find that your petrol gauge is running a little low, make a quick vicinity search to find nearby petrol stations. For 

your convenience, brand icons of 7 petrol stations have been added, while restaurants have been classified according to cuisine. 

SUPERFAST MENU FLOW WITH TOUCH PANEL OPERATION 

The touch screen user-interface is designed to help you find addresses 

quickly and with a minimum of fuss. For instance, type in the first letters of 

the street you’re looking for in the virtual keyboard and a list of streets 

appears that you can scroll simply by moving a finger up and down the scroll 

bar. Just press the desired street name that you want to get directions for. 

A handy ‘Show Map’ icon appears next to each street name giving you immediate access to 

map information. Or press the ‘Cross Street’ icon if you need to find a particular house number. 

As you travel, the screen shows you exactly where you are both on the road and the map. You 

can also move easily between a search and the more advanced sub-tasks of the 

AVIC navigation unit, such as zooming features, precision scrolling, vicinity searches or 

destination settings, simply by pressing the corresponding icon on-screen!

How do you like to drive? Lots of highways? Or maybe you prefer the scenic route? Pioneer’s DVD Cyber Navi puts you in control by calculating up 

to 6 routes simultaneously! You then have the option to have each route appear in a different colour using the Visual Route Selection by colour code 

option and to view a preview for each. To help you make the best choice for you, the unit shows you which is the fastest route (time priority), the 

shortest route (distance priority), the alternative route, the fastest route avoiding motorways, the shortest distance avoiding motorways or the 

alternative route avoiding motorways. You can even personalise the system to avoid toll roads or ferries.

INTELLIGENT AUTO RE-ROUTE 

Made a wrong turn on a programmed route? Not to worry. The DVD Cyber Navi computer has an improved Intelligent Automatic Re-routeing feature that automatically detects your missed turn and instantly 

recalculates a new route to your destination from your new location. If your initial route was one of the 6 routeing options, then the unit chooses a route along the same basic shape as the original. The unit’s built-in 

intelligence even adapts according to how you drive. Let’s say you typically like to take last-minute short cuts. The unit will be able to tell if your turn was deliberate or a mistake and recalculate the new route based 

on this judgement. Of course, the choice is always up to you. That’s why detailed traffic information and re-route alternatives are offered before the final choice is made. 

This automatic re-routeing feature functions intelligently! It adapts the re-routeing strategy based on the driver’s previous behaviour. For example, the DVD Cyber Navi computer will be able to evaluate whether the 

driver has made a driving ‘mistake’ (missed a turn), has left the route deliberately, or has made a shortcut, and will recalculate the route based on this judgement. 

In addition, the DVD Navigation units offer more detailed traffic information and present re-routeing alternatives before asking for confirmation of a re-routeing decision. Either way, you will not lose any time getting 

back on track — Pioneer’s Automatic Re-routeing features are not only intelligent, but SUPERFAST. In Memory Navi mode (AVIC-X1), only traffic events of the country where the destination was set, are uploaded 

into the memory and can be consulted. When the map disc is reinserted, traffic information is updated to the current location/country.

Pioneer DVD Cyber Navi units offer users a selection of 7 guidance modes (of which 3 are exclusively for the AVIC-X1). 

There are as many as 4 different guidance modes. The first, Pioneer’s original Driver’s View mode, gives you a realistic 

3-D view of the road ahead. In Map mode, your car is an icon on a full screen overview map. Street List mode makes 

following the chosen route even easier. It uses a combination of large and small arrows to indicate moves that are 

imminent and those that are coming up next. Once you have completed a specific manoeuvre, the arrow for that action 

disappears and the arrow for the next manoeuvre moves to the forefront. You can also have a mix of any two guidance 

modes that have been discussed above (Mixed mode). All modes offer equally precise mapping and information data.

be memorised in a private address book for future use, and your last 50 destinations are automatically kept in a Destination History list. 

ROUTEING

A 7-inch in-dash motorised touch panel colour display, the AVX-7600 is extremely versatile. Use it 

with a navigation system or video source. Or call on it to be the display for a complete AV system 

by adding on a Pioneer headunit, TV tuner, multi-CD player or even an extra DVD source unit. 

There’s no end to the in-car entertainment options. 

The AVD-W8000 features a huge 8-inch display with high brightness and excellent resolution. This display 

was designed primarily as a rear screen for video use. It can, however, be used as a Navigation display in 

the front, but not as a front screen with the AV master or TV tuner.

You’ll be impressed by the AVD-W6200, a trim 6.5-inch high-quality wide-screen panel. You can mount either in 

the front headrest or from the roof to allow rear seat passengers to enjoy their favourite DVD entertainment on 

the go. The AVD-W6200 can also be installed between the two front seats* to provide a more flexible viewing 

angle. Install or flush mount it into the dashboard and you have a handy and attractive front navigation display 

too. The choice is all up to you. 

The AVD-W6210 is similar to the AVD-W6200, but it has a touch panel display. With its fast and 

intuitive operation, it’s the ideal touch panel to use with a DVD Cyber Navi unit. 

* Note: For installation between the front seats, use the between seats mounting kit AD-HM6200. For installation in the headrest, the AD-HM6002 headrest

The XDV-P9-II is a 6-disc multi-player that can handle 

DVD-Video, CD, and VideoCD playback. It can be paired with a 

Pioneer IP-Bus headunit to select and play either audio or 

video discs. Alternatively, connect the included remote eye and 

use it as a stand-alone unit to create an added rear passenger 

video system.

And think about this: rear passengers can connect individual headphones to the stereo mini-jacks and enjoy
