<strong>FX</strong>-<strong>08IM</strong> <strong>8Ports</strong> <strong>10M</strong>/<strong>100M</strong> <strong>Switch</strong><br />
All of the eight ports on the <strong>FX</strong>-<strong>08IM</strong> support Auto MDI/MDI-X and thus automatically detect straight/crossover cable<br />
type. The product's metal chassis facilitates heat dissipation, and its fan-less, silent design is ideal for any office<br />
environment. Furthermore, its built-in power supply eliminates the need for a bulky AC adapter that occupies extra slots<br />
on a power strip or wall outlet.<br />
All ports support Auto MDI/MDI-X<br />
Since all ports on the <strong>FX</strong>-<strong>08IM</strong> support AutoMDI/MDI-X, the product automatically detects straight/crossover cable type and<br />
prevents cable-related troubles caused by cable type mismatch. In addition, this feature lets you use a straight cable for<br />
cascading the switch to another switch/switch.<br />

The metal chassis of the product facilitates the dissipation of unwanted heat inside the switch. Its fan-less, silent design allows<br />
the switch to operate quietly.<br />
Higher data transfer efficiency achieved via Flow Control<br />
The <strong>FX</strong>-<strong>08IM</strong> supports Flow Control (IEEE802.3x in full duplex mode, Back Pressure in half duplex mode). In the case of<br />
ordinary switches, a concentration of traffic on a specific port leads to severe performance degradation since free buffer<br />
memory and the bandwidth of the port decrease, disabling smooth retrieval and storage of frames on the buffer memory.<br />
Excess packets are discarded, causing frame losses. On the other hand, the <strong>FX</strong>-<strong>08IM</strong> uses Flow Control to stop the<br />
transmission of signals on the attached devices to directly eliminate bandwidth mismatches.<br />
Store-and-Forward blocks error packets<br />
The <strong>FX</strong>-<strong>08IM</strong> utilizes Store-and-Forward switching scheme, in which incoming data frames are first stored in a buffer memory.<br />
The switch then uses FCS (Frame Check Sequence) at the end of the frames to check for errors. Since frames with errors are<br />
removed within the switch, the scheme prevents the generation of unwanted <strong>net</strong>work traffic.<br />
Auto-Negotiation enabled on all ports<br />
The on-board Auto-Negotiation feature automatically selects the best data transfer rate (10/<strong>100M</strong>bps) and mode (Full/Half<br />
Duplex) for communication between the switch and another <strong>net</strong>working device.<br />
