Appendix C-Scheduling and Planning Resource<br />
These are examples of common planning that can foster <strong>Lesson</strong> <strong>Study</strong>.<br />
Example 1: Elementary <strong>School</strong>/Common Planning/Team Planning<br />
All teachers are self contained and teach all subject areas. Examples for implementing <strong>Lesson</strong><br />
<strong>Study</strong> in this scenario:<br />
o Rotate the subject area that will be focused on each month (August-Mathematics,<br />
September-Science, October-Reading, November-Social Studies).<br />
o Determine the subject area and standard/benchmark focus according to the instructional<br />
needs of students at evidenced by student data (skills in need of improvement).<br />
o Include ESE teachers, instructional coaches (reading, math, and science),<br />
paraprofessionals, and special area teachers as appropriate.<br />
Example 2: Elementary <strong>School</strong>/Common Planning/Team Planning (Two Teams)<br />
Teachers are teamed together for block scheduling. Examples for implementing <strong>Lesson</strong> <strong>Study</strong> in<br />
this scenario:<br />
o Math/science/social studies teachers meet together while language arts/writing/reading<br />
teachers meet together.<br />
