Course <strong>Induction</strong> 20 - 21 September <strong>2012</strong><br />

IMPORTANT INFORMATION<br />

At the Institute <strong>of</strong> Criminal Justice Studies, we aim to make the Course <strong>Induction</strong> an<br />

enjoyable and informative learning experience. We have therefore set out below some<br />

useful information on parking and taxi facilities.<br />

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately the <strong>University</strong> is unable to provide parking on site to visiting<br />

students. Please see the enclosed map and the recommended places to park below.<br />

Alternatively, you may wish to park your car at your hotel (where available – please check<br />

parking facilities) and travel to Portland Building.<br />

Mobile Phones and Pagers – please make sure these are switched <strong>of</strong>f at all times when<br />

you are in a teaching room.<br />

Security – the campus is an open site and there are lots <strong>of</strong> people around. Please take<br />

care <strong>of</strong> your belongings and do not leave them unattended.<br />

Fire Alarm – the fire alarm is a continuous bell. Leave the building immediately and move<br />

well away. <strong>University</strong> fire marshals will check that the building is empty.<br />

Refreshments – there are various local sandwich shops and public houses.<br />

Toilets – these are available at various locations in all the buildings we are using.<br />

Medical Treatment – if you need First Aid, ask a member <strong>of</strong> staff and they will contact<br />

our First Aider. Out <strong>of</strong> hours or for dental treatment, see above.
