IMPORTANT INFORMATION
At the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, we aim to make the Course Induction an
enjoyable and informative learning experience. We have therefore set out below some
useful information on parking and taxi facilities.
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately the University is unable to provide parking on site to visiting
students. Please see the enclosed map and the recommended places to park below.
Alternatively, you may wish to park your car at your hotel (where available – please check
parking facilities) and travel to Portland Building.
RECOMMENDED TRAVEL TO PORTSMOUTH:
Train: Nearest stations are Portsmouth & Southsea or Portsmouth Harbour. Please visit
www.thetrainline.com for train times from your local station and to book tickets.

HOUSEKEEPING NOTES
Mobile Phones and Pagers – please make sure these are switched off at all times when
you are in a teaching room.
Security – the campus is an open site and there are lots of people around. Please take
care of your belongings and do not leave them unattended.
Fire Alarm – the fire alarm is a continuous bell. Leave the building immediately and move
well away. University fire marshals will check that the building is empty.
Refreshments – there are various local sandwich shops and public houses.
Toilets – these are available at various locations in all the buildings we are using.
Medical Treatment – if you need First Aid, ask a member of staff and they will contact
our First Aider. Out of hours or for dental treatment, see above.

Please make payment at one of the pay on foot machines located at the
bottom of the escalators when you return from your visit.

in the red section)
