With new services and expanding facilities, plus its
dedication to the highest levels of personal attention to the
needs of customers, the Port of Los Angeles is positioning to
maintain and enhance its enviable status as America’s Port ®
for decades to come.
The Port of Los Angeles recently added a new terminal
operator – California United Terminals Inc., a subsidiary of
South Korea-based Hyundai Merchant Marine Co. Ltd. The
new operator, known as CUT for short, is subleasing 98 acres
of the 484-acre APM Terminals facility in the Pier 400 area of
Terminal Island and has the right to further expand its
operations in future years.
In mid-2010, The Containership Company, or TCC for
short, selected the Port of Los Angeles for its U.S. West Coast
gateway, initiating service at the TraPac Container Terminal to
and from China’s Jiangsu Province, a major industrial center
northwest of Shanghai. Norway-based TCC further adds
to the trans-Pacific shipping options available via the Port of
Los Angeles.
