As <strong>the</strong> first part of a trilogy, David Farrell Smith introduces us to<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>me that <strong>the</strong> spirit of a warrior is many times bound to <strong>the</strong><br />
promise of love awaiting his return. Regardless of <strong>the</strong> conflict,<br />
history is replete with stories that highlight <strong>the</strong> faith of love, <strong>the</strong> fire<br />
of battle, and <strong>the</strong> hope of return. Inspired by <strong>the</strong> interactions of<br />
men and women as <strong>the</strong>y embraced loved ones on ei<strong>the</strong>r side of <strong>the</strong><br />
journey, Smith starts his epic with this song for treble voices. The<br />
second offering in <strong>the</strong> set is for male voices and <strong>the</strong> conclusion is set<br />
for SATB voices. These work well individually, but are very moving<br />
