A drawing and sculpting course centred on the summer exhibition at The Queen’s Gallery,
Leonardo da Vinci: Anatomist. This course is a rare opportunity to see, study and work from
some of the finest drawings ever created.
We will look carefully at how Leonardo constructed his illusions on the page and how he
used these drawings, following his three dimensional journey from the skeleton, through the
layers of muscle and out to the skin. After studying and drawing from the collection, we will
have use of a private studio in The Queen’s Gallery to work from a life model, making drawings
that will lead to a final wax sculpture.
This course is delivered in collaboration with The Royal Collection and includes a visit to the
anatomical casts at the Royal Academy, and lectures from a leading surgeon and the Royal
Collection’s curator, Martin Clayton. All entrance fees are included in the course fee.
