<strong>Community</strong> Wellness<br />
<strong>Promega</strong> defines community wellness in a broad sense<br />
from strengthening the physical and mental needs of the<br />
individual to addressing a multitude of social needs in<br />
the community.<br />
In support of the diverse interests of our employees and<br />
the diverse needs of the community, each year <strong>Promega</strong><br />
matches employee giving in the annual United Way and<br />
<strong>Community</strong> Shares campaigns that are offered on the<br />
Madison campus. Similar programs are also offered at<br />
<strong>Promega</strong> branches to encourage contributions<br />
and volunteering:<br />
• <strong>Promega</strong> UK operates an annual<br />
program to support local charities that<br />
has recently included ‘Naomi House’<br />
for terminally ill children, ‘Guide Dogs for the Blind’ and<br />
‘MacMillan Nurses’ supporting cancer patients at home.<br />
• <strong>Promega</strong> corporate headquarters also supports an<br />
in-house aluminum can recycling program to benefit<br />
young adults with special needs in Wisconsin. AdamCan<br />
Recycling is a start-up business that will enable these<br />
young adults to be self-employed and active members<br />
of society.<br />
• In California at <strong>Promega</strong> Biosciences, an employee<br />
led “<strong>Community</strong> Action Team” works to support local<br />
organizations by involving employees in fundraising<br />

activities, matching donations and encouraging volunteering.<br />

In 2012 funds donated by employees were<br />
matched by <strong>Promega</strong> Biosciences to support<br />
The United Way, local Firefighters, Big Brothers/<br />
Big Sisters and Hurricane Sandy Relief.<br />
In 2012 <strong>Promega</strong> employees contributed to Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts.<br />
• In 2012, <strong>Promega</strong> Australia raised<br />
funds to support disadvantaged<br />
children through World Vision Australia,<br />
supported The Salvation<br />
Army, and cancer research.<br />
• <strong>Promega</strong> also provides opportunities to individuals<br />
with disabilities in the United Kingdom and Madison,<br />
Wisconsin, assembling and reusing packaging.<br />
