PUMA does Movember
Last month, you may
have seen several male
PUMA employees sporting
moustaches, including
Keith Woods together
with his colleagues
Robert Brummer,
Markus Diemann, Omar
Perez, Eduardo Ayala,
Dan Dance, Tim Peck,
Hugh Clarke, Carl Tuffley,
Martin Kronbuegel,
Pascal Schuster and Neil
Speaight. Why?
Keith explains: “During
November each year, Movember is
responsible for the sprouting of
moustaches on thousands of men’s
faces around the world. With their
'Mo's' these men raise vital awareness
and funds for men's health issues,
specifically prostate and testicular
cancer initiatives. For the 30 days of
November we were in effect walking/
talking billboards raising awareness
by prompting private and public
conversation around men’s health.
I was made aware of this last year by friends
in the UK, and decided it'd be fun to grow
a moustache and raise awareness at the
same time. While growing it last year so
many people asked me why and asked
me to 'tell me next year and I'll
join you'. We all agreed that rather than just
raising awareness we may as well raise
some money, too. I'm pleased to say we
raised 130 euros for The Prostate Cancer
Foundation. I'd like to thank all of the guys
for taking part, and here's to next year!”
apprentices
fulfil wishes
On Monday, the PUMA apprentices
from our offices in Herzogenaurach,
Germany, handed over products and
a financial donation worth around
1800 EUR in total for the 47 children
and young people at the children’s
home St. Michael in neighbouring
Fürth. It included sleeping bags,
pillows, cinema tickets, tickets for
a zoo visit, and various other things
the kids had listed on their wish
lists. The money for the donation
was collected amongst the different
teams in Herzo. The children’s
home said a big thank you to everyone
who made this possible.
