and The Telegraph. Akbar has also written books on<br />
<strong>the</strong> Indian political landscape. A renowned political<br />
and social commentator, Akbar is also <strong>the</strong> author of<br />
several articles and books, including Blood Bro<strong>the</strong>rs and<br />
India: The Siege Within, Challenges to a Nation’s Unity.<br />
In addition, he served as a member of India’s Parliament<br />
from 1989-1992, and as an advisor in <strong>the</strong> Ministry<br />
of Human Resources, helping with policy planning<br />
in education and literacy programs. He holds a B.A. in<br />
English from Presidency College, Calcutta.<br />

Mohammed Al-Ardhi is a former<br />
Chief of <strong>the</strong> Omani Air Force, he<br />
was responsible for all <strong>the</strong> military<br />
and security relations between<br />
Oman and <strong>the</strong> U.S. and Iran. He<br />
negotiated <strong>the</strong> Border agreement between Oman and<br />
<strong>the</strong> UAE. Following <strong>the</strong> completion of his Masters in<br />
Public Policy from <strong>the</strong> John F Kennedy School of Government<br />
at Harvard University, Mohammed joined <strong>the</strong><br />
family business as its Chairman. Presently he serves on<br />
<strong>the</strong> Board of Directors of Investcorp and <strong>the</strong> <strong>Brookings</strong><br />
International Advisory Board.<br />
Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi<br />
UAE<br />
Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi,<br />
who is also known as <strong>the</strong> “Green<br />
Sheikh” because of his zealous<br />
interest in <strong>the</strong> environment, is a<br />
member of <strong>the</strong> ruling family of <strong>the</strong><br />
Emirate of Ajman in <strong>the</strong> United<br />
Arab Emirates. Currently Sheikh Abdul Aziz is <strong>the</strong><br />
CEO of Al Ihsan Charity Centre, advisor for Green<br />
Ajman and <strong>the</strong> Chairman of Green-Base Environmental<br />
Services. His educational background is in Chemical<br />
and Petroleum Engineering and Environmental Management.<br />
He earned his Ph.D. in Cleaner Production<br />
and Industrial (Ecology) Eco-Systems.<br />
Mohammed Abdullah Mutib<br />

Mohammed Abdullah Mutib Al-<br />
Rumaihi is assistant foreign minister<br />
of follow-up affairs for <strong>the</strong><br />
State of Qatar. In this capacity, Al-<br />
Rumaihi heads <strong>the</strong> Government<br />
Com mittee for Delineating Maritime Borders and is<br />
in charge of security affairs at <strong>the</strong> Ministry of Foreign<br />
Affairs. He also heads <strong>the</strong> Government Committee for<br />
Coordinating Conferences. Al-Rumaihi has had a long<br />
and distinguished career in <strong>the</strong> Qa tari military which<br />
he entered after his secondary school educa tion. He<br />
worked his way up <strong>the</strong> ranks, serving as a commander<br />
of several artillery regiments, eventually becoming<br />
chief of <strong>the</strong> Qatari-French defense agreement technical<br />
committee, and taking charge of <strong>the</strong> international<br />
agreements portfolio at <strong>the</strong> Office of <strong>the</strong> Chief of Staff<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Qatari Armed Forces. He was transferred from<br />
<strong>the</strong> Qatari Armed Forces on <strong>the</strong> directive of HRH <strong>the</strong><br />
Emir in 2001 to <strong>the</strong> Ministry of Foreign Affairs and<br />
was eventually appointed ambassador to France and<br />
non-resident ambassador to Belgium, <strong>the</strong> Swiss Federation,<br />
Luxem burg and <strong>the</strong> European Union. Al-Rumaihi<br />
is a graduate of Saint Cyr Military Academy French<br />
Artillery School. He was also a candidate officer at <strong>the</strong><br />
French Military College from 1976 to 1980.<br />

Aisha bint Faleh bin Nasser Al-<br />
Thani is a member of <strong>the</strong> Qatar<br />
Supreme Education Council. She<br />
is also a member of <strong>the</strong> Board<br />
of Directors of <strong>the</strong> Zaytuna Institute<br />
in <strong>the</strong> United States and sits on <strong>the</strong> Board of<br />
Directors of Reach Out to Asia. Sheikha Aisha bint<br />
Faleh al Thani is <strong>the</strong> Chairperson of Al Faleh Group.<br />
Sheikha Aisha was a speaker at <strong>the</strong> Qatar Foundation<br />
and UNESCO joint conference (2007) on “Literacy<br />
in <strong>the</strong> Arab States: Building Partnerships and Promoting<br />
Innovative Approaches.” She received her BA from<br />
<strong>the</strong> University of Qatar and MBA from <strong>the</strong> University<br />
of Hull in <strong>the</strong> U.K. Sheikha Aisha is now a Ph.D.<br />
