RM Thin Client 

Like a PC just thinner. 

Specific educational features include:

• No data stored locally so it is a completely secure unit

RM Desktop 

Ideal for use in areas where space is not the issue.

• Robust fascia, buttons and ports that are ‘force-finger’ tested to withstand 11kg of pressure 

• Can be mounted in desktop or upright orientation to make best use of your space

RM Tower 

For specialist areas where a fully expandable PC is needed, the RM Tower is ideal for even 

the most demanding uses.

Old monitors can be re-used and swapped if refreshing hardware.

Whenever we source direct from the 

Far East or US we have committed to 

shipping no more than 20% of the volume 

by airfreight. Between October 2010 

and November 2011 only 10.04% of our 

shipments were by air. 

For the RM One, we have recently been 

awarded a Major Commendation Award 

from the Business Commitment to the 

Environment (BCE) Environmental 

Leadership Awards. 

The RM One features recycled plastic in all major plastic 

components (up to 25% recycled material), includes an 

‘80plus’ power supply for improved energy efficiency and 2.5” 

mobile hard drives are available to further reduced energy 

consumption. In addition, the unique Eco mode settings save 

up to 4W of energy consumption at the touch of a button 

(located on the side of the screen). Finally, the screen on the 

RM One is re-useable and can easily be removed after the 

PC has reached the end of its life to be used as a standalone 

monitor. 

Both the RM Tower and RM Desktop (D-series) feature an 

‘80plus bronze’ power supply as standard and fully meet the 

requirements of Energy Star 5.0. Although these products 

meet the Energy Star 5.0 criteria, they are not certified due to 

the high costs associated with this scheme.

technology they want, whilst trying to avoid the constraints their budget dictates. All transactions are written on RM 

Education documentation, and we employ a panel of funders to ensure that rates are always under review and subject 

to competition. This in turn means that customers will benefit from the most competitive cost of funds. 

Rental Agreement 

The RM Education rental 

agreement offers a 

flexible approach towards 

paying for equipment 

and allows you to 

maximise the spending 

potential associated with 

your budget. The rental 

profile can be structured 

for monthly, quarterly, 

termly, half yearly or 

annual payments and can 

include all IT hardware, 

software and related 

services supplied not only

Operating Lease 

Capability

residual value-based lease, 

which will be compliant 

with IAS17/SSAP21, through 

an investment in the lease 

with a future value of >10%.

recovered through a separate

at the end of the lease the 

assets not being refreshed 

can continue in use without

A Master Lease Agreement

orders using a Schedule

hardware fault within the 

first 30 working days from 

shipment, the unit will be 

classed as ‘Dead on Arrival’. 

The customer must log a 

call and RM Education will 

endeavour to replace the 

PC within 5 working days. 

The failed unit will also be 

collected.

Maintainers 

RM currently has a desktop 

maintenance relationship 

with a number of other 

maintenance providers at 

various institutions around 

the country. We are willing 

to work with any reputable 

service provider if it is in the 

best interest of the customer 

and providing service levels

Included with all RM PC 

hardware is a 13 month 

on-site warranty 

(upgradeable to five years) 

and a three year swap-out 

warranty on all monitors. 

Once a fault has been 

diagnosed and reported, an 

engineer will be allocated

for all hardware calls placed 

before 4pm. An address will 

be taken from the customer 

to ensure that the engineer is 

sent to the correct location. 

For monitor calls, the same

If you require technical assistance for an RM or HP machine 

purchased from RM, you have a choice of three options.

Hardware fault calls are usually reported by phoning the dedicated HE Support Team at 

RM’s Call Management Centre in Milton Park, Oxfordshire. RM operates a sophisticated call 

management system, based on a single corporate database. This system checks service 

access details and provides the complete range of call management facilities, including task 

management, escalation and engineer scheduling. The system tracks the call from inception 

to closure, ensuring that service levels are achieved. It also enables any member of a Support 

Team to view a customer’s fault report, without the need for the customer to repeat any 

details. The HE telephone lines are open from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday and 

8.30am to 4.15pm Friday. Personnel educated to degree level, who also have Microsoft 

accreditation, will typically man this line. The number to call is 0800 019 7908.
