Dr. John S. Micgiel teaches the modern
history and politics of East Central
Europe at Columbia University,
where he serves as Executive Director
of the East Central European Center
and Associate Director of the Harriman
Institute. His teaching and research
bring him to the region often,
particularly to Poland and Estonia,
his publications include 10 edited volumes
on the region.
