recognized as well.
We thank the city of College
Park for its generous grant of
$1,750 to this scholarship fund
which, along with the $2,500 contributed
by the American Legion
and American Legion Auxiliary
along with the “fun bunch” from
Post and Unit 217, enabled us to
be so generous this year.
Thanks go also to our other
sponsors, Matthew Rutigliano and
the Holiday Inn Hotel in College
Park who hosted our panel of out
of state judges and the pageant
host, Rich Lee.

of the Moose College Park Lodge
453, The Hefferin Family, Melody
Parsa, Randy Howes, Applebee’s
Restaurant of College Park, the
Trost Family, the Schrader Family,
the Lewis Family, and the Kalisinski
Family.
As it takes a village to raise a
child, it also takes many people
to have a successful scholarship
pageant. Our grateful thanks to
everyone who assisted in any way
in this 16th annual event.
Angie Rodriguez, through this
pageant, has been responsible for
more than $150,000 being awarded
to young ladies to further their
education.
Angie does not have any children
of her own; however, she is so
busy helping to raise the daughters
of so many other families, she has
no time to miss them. When Angie
returns home each night, Merlin
and Minnie meet her with their
own demands of her.
Bob Hewitt Wins High Point
Baseball Booster’s Raffle
Delores Greer, Calverton Giant Food Employee, drew out the
winning raffle ticket for the High Point High School Baseball
Boosters Club on March 17, 2007. Bob Hewitt of Adelphi was
the winner of a Panasonic 42” Plasma Television!
The raffle tickets were sold over the past few months.
Thanks to all who supported the fundraiser.
