Careers and Undergraduate Study<br />
Most students will move onto higher education at university. If your destination is the United<br />
Kingdom then you will be trained in using the UCAS (University and Colleges Admission Service)<br />
online application system.<br />
If you will be applying for admission to universities outside the UK you will be given assistance in<br />
liaising directly with the colleges <strong>of</strong> your choice.<br />
In either case you will be helped in making any application and in the production <strong>of</strong> any ‘personal<br />
statements’ or letters <strong>of</strong> application that you will have to write.<br />
Work experience is not compulsory for our <strong>Sixth</strong> <strong>Form</strong>ers. However, many students find that an<br />
opportunity to complete some work placement training that fits in with their career goal or<br />
actually enhances their application to university. Some degree courses, such as Medicine, actually prefer<br />
applicants to have completed some pr<strong>of</strong>essional training in an appropriate institution. We will help you<br />
arrange all work placements through our tutorial system.<br />
