Home, <strong>School</strong>, Student Agreement<br />

When students enter our <strong>Sixth</strong> <strong>Form</strong> they are given our post 16 agreement. We call this the Home,<br />

<strong>School</strong>, Student Agreement. This document is signed by the student along with the school and<br />

parents. This declaration demonstrates a commitment by everyone involved in a students’ education and<br />

learning.<br />

1.Parents: If my son/daughter is accepted at the <strong>British</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bahrain</strong>, I agree to:<br />

•Support my son/daughter with homework and other appropriate home learning.<br />

•Attend parents’ evenings and discussions about my son/daughter’s progress and behaviour.<br />

•Let the school know about any concerns or problems that might affect my son/daughter’s<br />

work and behaviour.<br />

•See that my son/daughter goes to school regularly, punctually and properly dressed in<br />

accordance with the school policy on dress code.<br />

•Ensure that the school is immediately informed <strong>of</strong> absence and a note is produced promptly<br />

on the return <strong>of</strong> my son/daughter to school.<br />

•Support the school’s policies for behaviour and the Code <strong>of</strong> Conduct.<br />

•Support my son/daughter in their participation in extra-curricular activities.<br />

•Support work experience initiatives in Year12/13.<br />

2.<strong>The</strong> <strong>School</strong>: In response to this the <strong>British</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bahrain</strong> agrees to:<br />

•Provide a quality education for every student.<br />

•Send home regular assessments.<br />

•Let the parents know about concerns and problems that affect their son/daughter’s work.<br />

•Arrange opportunities for parent consultations and keep parents informed about school<br />

activities.<br />

•Contact the parents if there is a problem with attendance, punctuality or behaviour.<br />

•Provide opportunities for students to take extra-curricular activities including social,<br />

academic and physical.<br />

•Ensure students are well prepared for their application to college/university and have<br />

completed the necessary documentation within a given time frame.<br />

•Encourage and promote work experience in Year 12/13.<br />

3.<strong>The</strong> Student: I wish to study at the <strong>British</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bahrain</strong> and as a student, I agree to:<br />

•Take my studies seriously and submit work on time.<br />

•Use my private study time during the school day in a responsible and<br />

adult way.<br />

•Attend regularly, punctually and properly dressed according to the <strong>School</strong>’s dress code<br />

policy.<br />

•Attend all my lessons punctually<br />

•Play a part in the communal life <strong>of</strong> the school.<br />

•Adhere to the <strong>School</strong>’s general Code <strong>of</strong> Conduct.<br />

•Set an example to younger students and behave at all times in a manner that befits a senior<br />

member <strong>of</strong> the school.<br />

•Follow the rules about signing out/in.<br />
