The SensorPulse ® MSP family of products have begun
a revolution on how analog signals connect to a
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Analog input signals
are digitally scaled, amplified, linearized, isolated,
and converted to a high resolution 24 VDC pulse, all
within a 12 mm wide DIN rail terminal block. Our
patented 16-bit, single-wire, communication protocol,
communicates with any one of the discrete inputs (or
outputs) of a PLC.
THE RIGHT SIGNAL PROCESSING
MODULE FOR THE JOB
SensorPulse ® offers five analog input signal types (to a
discrete input of a PLC): Current, Voltage,
Thermocouple, RTD, and Potentiometer. SensorPulse ®
also offers two analog output signal types (from a discrete
output of a PLC): Current and Voltage. All models
are engineered to meet high quality and performance
standards with advanced features including: 16-bit resolution;
two-way optical and transformer isolation (to
eliminate the concern of ground loops and noise); short
circuit and reverse power protection; and a broad operating
temperature range of -40 to 75°C.
A NEW BREED OF PLC ANALOG I/O MODULE
The MSP Analog I/O allows PLC users the freedom to
distribute the I/O where the signal is being generated...the
freedom to eliminate the cost of a separate signal
conditioner and other hardware...the freedom to
expand I/O one channel at a time...the freedom to connect
to any ladder logic-based PLC. A small ladder program
loaded into the PLC enables the controller to capture
and process the analog signal.
FLEXIBLE, USER-FRIENDLY CONFIGURATION
MSP analog I/O modules can be shipped with the
default input/output calibration or the customer can
specify an application specific calibration for true Plug
‘n’ Play installation. The optional SignalFlex configuration
software and cable allows the user to re-configure
and re-calibrate MSP units at will. This Windows ® -
based software operates on a PC running the
Windows ® 3.1 , Windows ® 95, or Windows ® 98 operating
system or on a Palmtop running Windows ® CE. For
further flexibility and convenience, configuration
changes can be made without removing the unit from
the control system.
