Director’s Message...Debbie Carlson Kudla THE RIVER TRAILS PARK DISTRICT HAS EARNED THE IAPD/IPRA DISTINGUISHED ACCREDITATION. The Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Park and Recreation Association sponsor a Distinguished Accreditation Program for the park districts in Illinois. The goal of this Accreditation program is to improve the delivery of recreation services to the residents of Illinois through a voluntary comprehensive evaluation process. The desired result is to improve the quality of life for Illinois residents and to recognize the agencies which provide this quality service. Also through this process, you evaluate yourself and make sure that you are up to date with all legal and policy matters. The process also increases operational efficiency and effectiveness. The staff at River Trails has proven to be above the standards necessary to achieve this recognition. In Division 3 (our area) a total of 440 points was needed to pass this evaluation. I am extremely excited to say that we achieved 475.78 points, which is a wonderful accomplishment. The 5 member evaluation team was very impressed with our staff, operations and facilities. Our mission is to serve our patrons by providing excellent recreation opportunities. With this recognition from our fellow professionals and commissioners, we have confirmed that we are going in the right direction to do just that. I want to thank and congratulate all staff and the board for all of the efforts that were made to make this happen. Please continue to enjoy our programs, parks and facilities. Code of Conduct We rely on all participants to display appropriate behavior at all times. Participants shall: R Show respect to all participants, staff & spectators R Refrain from using foul language R Refrain from inflicting bodily harm upon other participants, staff & spectators R Show respect for equipment, supplies and facilities Additional guidelines may be developed as deemed necessary. River Trails Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant or spectator for inappropriate conduct. Each situation will be evaluated on its own merit. Summer 2013 program brochure will be delivered beginning April 22 Brochure Mailing List #18894 Non-Residents (including partner residents) can receive 3 consecutive program brochures for only $7 per year. Just register for our nonresident brochure mailing list and you’ll start receiving them as soon as the next one comes out! Partner Resident Agreement River Trails, Prospect Hts. & Mt. Prospect Park Districts are involved in an agreement to bring more recreational services to our residents. Although your property taxes will continue to support only the River Trails Park District, you will be entitled to certain additional benefits at the “partner” park districts…Prospect Hts. & Mt. Prospect. All the programs and facilities, except for the golf courses, offered by our partner districts are available to you at resident rates. Residents will still be given first priority when registering for their favorite programs within their home park district. To take advantage of this outstanding partnership, when registering for programs or purchasing a membership at our partner districts, present valid proof of your name and address with a valid driver's license or state ID. To find out more about what our partner districts have to offer, please call, visit their website or stop by the Prospect Heights Park District’s Gary Morava Recreation Center or Mt. Claudia Heidorn In Claudia’s 4 years with the Park District, she has shown a great dedication to the children of our Trail Blazers preschool program. She always puts the children of our program first and has been a big reason the preschool program continues to be a huge success. Standout qualities that Claudia possesses include her overall kindness in working with both kids and staff, an unmatched passion for working with children and a determination to meeting the needs of our community here at River Trails.
