SERVICES PROVIDED:<br />
A 5-week training program includes classroom and laboratory instruction, a clinical internship<br />
component in an area nursing home, and workshops and instruction in World of Work and Job<br />
Search topics. Uniforms will be provided by HCC. Job Placement Assistance is included in the<br />
program to help students obtain employment. HCC will assist graduates in completing their<br />
Nurse Aide state certification test application and will pay the testing fee. At the end of the HHA<br />
training component, students will take the industry-recognized Home Health Aid competency<br />
exam at HCC. NO GED REQUIRED TO ENROLL!<br />
POPULATION SERVED AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:<br />
• TAFDC recipients only<br />
• Speak, read, write and understand English<br />
• Take the free reading comprehension and math assessments and achieve required levels<br />
for entrance into the Program. Assessments are given to ensure that students are currently<br />
at the math and reading levels needed to fully comprehend the course materials and<br />
content.<br />
• Minimum test scores: Reading Comprehension 8.0; Math 7.0<br />
• A desire to participate fully in the Jump Start CNA/HHA Training Program<br />
• A commitment to complete the Jump Start CNA/HHA Training Program, including<br />
maintaining a perfect attendance<br />
• A commitment to enter employment (20 hours or more per week)<br />
• A commitment to retain employment for the purpose of becoming self-sufficient<br />
• Pass a CORI/SORI (Criminal Offender Record Information/Sex Offender Registry<br />
Information)<br />
• Be a United States Citizen or person otherwise legally able to work in the United States<br />
• Be at least 20 years of age, if have not obtained a high school diploma or GED<br />
• Be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, push/pull 25 pounds, climb stairs, stoop, bend, stand for<br />
long periods of time, and work with the elderly<br />

training, lesson planning, practice teaching and feedback.<br />
• World Language Classes in Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese,<br />
Russian and Spanish. Elementary, Intermediate and advanced levels; weekend workshops<br />
