Next Saturday is our “Interparish Mass & Picnic”. It
will be held at 4:15 p.m. on the Catholic Central
parking lot. This annual Mass between St Joe’s and
St Mary’s celebrates the cooperative spirit that has
existed between both parishes for many years. This
year I urge you to PLEASE consider coming to this
Mass. The greater the number of people…the
greater the chance to appreciate one another more!
Both parishes are involved in the preparations and planning. We’ll
have liturgical ministers from both churches. Set up is being done by
St Joe’s. The food prep and serving will be done by St Mary’s. Of
course, pray for dry and cool weather. If it’s too hot or wet, we’ll all just
meet inside St Mary’s church.
Following Mass, there will be a picnic lunch of sloppy joes, hot dogs,
and ice cream sundaes. If you can, please bring a lawn chair and a
desire to meet and greet those you don’t know. PLEASE come and help
make this another great “Interparish Mass & Picnic”.
“Non-Raffle” RAFFLE begins
This past week all parishioners were sent a letter announcing our
“non-raffle” raffle. This is our third year of running this unique raffle.
There are no tickets to fill out and there are no prizes. This is purely a
Raffle of Generosity! To help the parish pay our summer bills we’re
asking parishioners for a donation of $30.00 or more.
Because of your sacrifices, this has become a very successful
fundraiser. Last year we raised close to $13,000 which was a
significant help to keeping our budget balanced during the summer.
From the July 1st collections, we have collected $4,267.00.
We hope that every parishioner will try and make some kind of
donation. Please put it in the envelope that was provided and either
drop in the collection basket or send to the Parish Office.
Thank you again for your faithfulness to St Joe’s.
Looking for Work?
At St Joe’s we’re looking for a person to serve in part-time maintenance.
It would involve a broad range of mechanical skills. If
interested in such a position, please call Deacon Mark (734-7195) at
the parish for further discussion.

FALL FESTIVAL NEWS
This year’s Festival is about
two months away….Sat/Sun
(Sept 15 & 16). Thanks to
those who have helped us get
quite a few things in order.
We could use your donation of jams, jellies,
pickles, canned tomatoes, salsa to be sold
along with our baked sale items.
Can you make craft items between now and
the Festival?
This year’s Fall Festival will feature a “pig
roast” on Saturday following a “Polka Mass” at
4:00 p.m. We’re hoping you’ll help spread
the word to friends and neighbors. Our
Festival will be different this year, and we
hope it will be even more fun

Can you help St. Joseph
Parish without giving more
money???? Of course, you
can!. The easiest way is to
purchase SCRIP gift cards
after masses on the 1st or 3rd
full weekends of the month.
When you purchase these gift cards a portion
of your purchase price is given back to St.
Joseph Parish. Now isn’t that a simple way to
give more to the church, while not giving more
from your pocket.
Perhaps you need to do some lawn care or
building projects: check out the SCRIP box or
order form for Menards, Home Depot, Lowes,
Fleet Farm, or ACE Hardware gift cards. These
purchases can give back to St. Joseph Parish
while helping you complete that special
project you keep putting off.
