His Eminence Gongkar Dorje
Denpa Rinpoche,
Supreme Head of the Dzongpa Branch of the Sakya Lineage
of Tibetan Buddhism,
His Eminence the 6 th Gongkar Dorje Denpa Rinpoche (Tenzin Jampal Lungtok Namgyal) was born
very close to the Tibetan border in Arunachal Pradesh, India, in 1977 and later recognised by H.H.
the Sakya Trizin as the reincarnation of Dorje Denpa Kunga Namgyal. His Eminence, the youngest
ever graduate of Sakya College, from where He obtained his degrees in B.A. and M.A., received
full ordination and training in His tradition, and established the monastery of Lhokha Gongkar
Chöde in the district of Dehradun in India as the seat for the Dzongpa branch of the Sakya lineage
of Tibetan Buddhism, of which he was enthroned as the Supreme Head.
The Initiation of Red Jambhala According
to the Dzongpa Lineage
This rare and advanced initiation derives from
Yogeshvara Virupa, the King of the Eighty-Four
Mahasiddhas of India and the human progenitor
of the Lam-Dre, the highest system of Buddhist
teachings at the heart of the Sakya lineage of
Tibetan Buddhism. One form of the Red Jambhala
practice is contained in the famous Thirteen
Golden Dharmas and even more uncommon is
the form for self-generation that came through
the Five Great Founding Forefathers of the Sakya
tradition and Lama Dampa Sonam Gyaltsen, and
then came to be composed by the first Gongkar
Dorje Denpa, Kunga Namgyal (1432-1496). This
holy Lama was a great Tantric Master, acclaimed
as one of the Six Ornaments of the Sakya
tradition, founder of the great Gongkar Chöde
monastery and what came to be known as the
Dzongpa lineage of the Sakya tradition.
The practice of Red Jambhala is extraordinarily
powerful for enriching inner and outer wealth;
it also increases one’s life-force. In fact, Red
Jambhala can harness all the abilities and powers
of the Three Realms’ habitat and inhabitants
entirely, to magnetise the power to fulfil all of one’s
desires and bestow all the siddhis.
As a jenang (authorising initiation) of the
Unsurpassed Yoga classification of Tantra,
participants need to have received the samaya
from a two-day major empowering consecration
before attending. No formal mantra-commitment
will be conferred, but the emphasis to cultivate the
two bodhicittas will be given and to diligently keep
all one’s vows.

be bestowing the initiation of Red Jambhala on
26th December 2010
Mahakala Puja
In the Vajrayana Buddhism, the powerful
assistance of Dharma Protectors is invoked to
guard practitioners from all obstacles. Of these,
the Greater and Lesser forms of Mahakala are
the chief Dharma Protectors in all branches of
the Sakya tradition. Also included in the Dzongpa
rituals are Ekajati, Kamadhatishvari, Citapati, Putra
and the wrathful retinue, Vaishravana, Ganapati
and other guardians.
H.E. Gongkar Dorje Denpa Rinpoche and his
monks will be performing an extensive series
of extensive Mahakala Pujas for Sakya Tenphel
Ling and its members from 22-26 Dec 2010. The
emphasis will be on the pujas to Rinpoche’s
Patron Protector, Brahmanrupa, which are
considered especially beneficial for clearing
obstacles to one’s business affairs and resolving
disputes, as well as for causing one’s circle of
Dharma practitioners to flourish. In addition to this,
the Dö-chog ceremony will be performed. This is a
special two-day ritual in which a multi-dimensional
frame is created, covered in multi-coloured
threads, and later burned in a ritual purification.
The burning will take place on the second day
and that day will include Tsog. Participants need
to bring a small cutting of personal clothing to be
burnt for the full effects of this ceremony.
In Tibet, a chapel near the famous Jokhang
Temple in Lhasa, the Meru Nyingpa Temple,
belongs to Gongkar Chöde and houses a famous
statue of Brahmanrupa Mahakala. Historically, it
was so popular that the offerings made there were
sufficient to fund Gongkar Chode itself, which at
one time housed around three thousand monks,
without any additional patronage. This is because
people have long had faith, based on innumerable
miraculous signs, that prayers directed to this
Protector are especially effective in warding
off obstacles and bestowing success for one’s
business.
The Guru Rinpoche Puja
The Dzongpa branch of the Sakya lineage
conducts a special two or three-day Puja to Guru
Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) in Gongkar Chöde

monastery every month known as ‘The Secret
Collection in Eight Chapters’ (Sang-du lai’u Gyepa),
which is also known simply as Tse-chu (the
ceremony for the 10th day of the Tibetan lunar
calendar).
The Sakya tradition holds a sacred link to Guru
Rinpoche, as Khön Nagendrarakshita was one
of Guru Rinpoche’s chief disciples, through
which many precious teachings and initiations
were imparted and are upheld to this day by the
Sakyapas. Nanam Dorje Dudjom was also one
of the chief disciples of Guru Rinpoche, and, as
foreseen by Guru Rinpoche himself, Gongkar
Dorje Denpa Kunga Namgyal was recognised as
his reincarnation. The special puja of the Dzongpa
tradition ends each day with the Tsog offering,
together with the offering of nectar and long-life
pills (tse-ril). Dedications are also made for the
deceased in the chang-chog ritual.
This complete puja will be conducted at Sakya
Tenphel Ling on 2nd Jan 2011 by the monks of
Gongkar Chöde monastery, led by His Eminence
Gongkar Dorje Denpa Rinpoche.
Oral Transmissions and Initiation of
Manjushri
Manjushri is one of the Eight Intimate Sons of
the Buddha, the embodiment of all the Buddha’s
wisdom, as well as being the unofficial Patron
Bodhisattva of the Sakya lineage of Tibetan
Buddhism. Thus it is a great blessing that H.E.
Gongkar Dorje Denpa Rinpoche is bestowing the
two most important oral transmissions as well as
an initiation of Manjushri at Sakya Tenphel Ling in
Singapore on 19th Dec 2010 .
The Praise of the Resultant Qualities of
Glorious Primordial Wisdom
Central to all Tibetan traditions of Buddhism is
the recitation of the prayer known in Tibetan as
Gang-lo-ma: The Praise of the Resultant Qualities
of Glorious Primordial Wisdom or the Shrijñana
Gunaphala Namastuti in Sanskrit. Although it is
said that this praise was composed by the Indian
master Vajrayudha, it is also said that when
the five hundred scholars of the great Nalanda
Monastery each composed a praise to Manjushri,
it was found that they had all written this very
same prayer. Thus, it is said to convey immense
blessings. Anyone who has gone for Refuge in
the Mahayana tradition is welcome to receive this
sacred transmission from His Eminence on 19th
December 2010.
As it is only a short prayer, His Eminence will
also give some background explanation and how
reciting this prayer can transform our lives. This is
especially beneficial for young and new students.
The Eulogy Praising the Names of
Manjushri (the Namasamgiti)
The Manjushri-namasamgiti or ‘Eulogy Praising
the Names of Manjushri’ (Jampal tsen-jo in
Tibetan) is a very important text in Vajrayana
Buddhism; one that, at the expressed wish of
H.H. the Sakya Trizin, is recited every year at the
Sakya Monlam. All the Buddhas of the past have
expounded it, are expounding it in the present,
and will expound it in the future. As it says in the
first chapter of the Stainless Light Commentarial
Tantra:
‘Those who do not know the Namasamgiti do not
know the Primordial Wisdom Body of Vajradhara.
Those who do not know the Primordial Wisdom
Body of Vajradhara do not know the Mantrayana.
Those who do not know the Mantrayana are
all Samsaric… Thus, noble gurus expound [the
Namasamgiti] and noble disciples who strive for
liberation should listen to it.’
Therefore, it is considered absolutely
indispensable for Vajrayana practitioners to
receive the oral transmission of the Namasamgiti.
Although it is generally associated with Yoga
Tantra, anyone who has received any Vajrayana
initiation may attend and receive this crucial
oral transmission from His Eminence on 19th
December 2010.
The Initiation of Manjushri Riding a Lion
In addition to the oral transmissions, Sakya
Tenphel Ling has requested His Eminence to
bestow a special jenang (authorising initiation)
of Manjushri. And so on 19th Dec 2010, His
Eminence will bestow the profound initiation
of Manjushri Riding a Lion. In this practice,
Manjushri, who enriches one’s wisdom and
discernment, is accompanied by the goddess
Sarasvati, who also enhances one’s intelligence
and articulation.
The ultimate goal of this initiation and practice is
to attain the stage of Manjushri - his completely
pure and perfect Enlightenment, the primordial
wisdom of all the Buddhas. In addition, it
can greatly benefit any study, all aspects of
intelligence, all fields of knowledge, and our ability
to articulate intelligently.
One needs to have received a two-day
empowering consecration of the Charya
classification of Tantra or higher (such as Hevajra)
before receiving this initiation. No formal mantracommitment
will be conferred, but the emphasis
to cultivate the two bodhicittas will be given and
to diligently keep all one’s vows.

红 财 神 的 修 法 外 , 另 一 项 便 是 自 生 起 的 不 共 修
法 。 此 法 由 萨 迦 五 祖 及 喇 嘛 登 巴 索 南 嘉 森 所
传 , 之 后 由 第 一 世 贡 噶 多 杰 登 巴 (1432-1496)
撰 写 。 第 一 世 贡 噶 多 杰 登 巴 乃 是 一 位 伟 大 的 密
续 大 师 , 亦 是 萨 迦 著 名 的 六 庄 严 宝 之 一 , 并 也
是 伟 大 的 贡 噶 楚 德 寺 德 创 立 者 , 更 是 开 创 宗 巴
的 伟 大 导 师 。
红 财 神 的 修 法 对 丰 富 内 财 与 外 财 十 分 强 而 有
效 , 同 时 也 能 增 长 个 人 的 寿 命 。 红 财 神 能 够 通
过 摄 持 三 界 所 有 的 才 能 与 力 量 , 来 圆 满 修 行 者
的 一 切 愿 望 , 并 赐 予 一 切 成 就 。.
由 于 此 是 无 上 瑜 伽 密 续 中 的 授 权 灌 顶 , 因 此 所
有 参 加 者 必 须 已 从 两 天 的 大 灌 顶 中 领 受 过 三 昧
耶 戒 , 才 能 参 加 此 红 财 神 灌 顶 法 会 。 此 灌 顶 将
不 要 求 参 加 者 承 诺 任 何 的 持 咒 功 课 , 但 将 重 点
教 授 参 加 者 培 养 二 菩 提 心 , 并 精 进 地 持 守 个 人
的 誓 言 、 戒 律 。
尊 贵 的 多 杰 登 巴 仁 波 切 将 于 12 月 26 日 传 授 红
财 神 授 权 灌 顶 。
大 黑 天 等 护 法 法 会
在 金 刚 乘 中 , 修 行 者 会 召 请 护 法 来 协 助 去 除 修
行 道 上 的 所 有 障 碍 。 在 萨 迦 派 中 , 大 小 诸 大 黑
天 乃 是 主 要 的 护 法 。 而 在 宗 巴 仪 轨 中 , 又 有 益
卡 迦 帝 、 卡 玛 达 帝 瓦 利 、 慈 达 巴 地 、 普 达 及 其
忿 怒 眷 属 、 威 拉 瓦 那 、 象 神 及 其 他 护 法 。
尊 贵 的 贡 噶 多 杰 登 巴 仁 波 切 及 其 僧 众 将 从 12 月
22 日 至 26 日 为 释 迦 寺 及 其 会 员 修 持 一 系 列 盛
大 的 大 黑 天 法 会 。 这 次 的 修 法 将 着 重 在 仁 波 切
个 人 的 护 法 — 婆 罗 门 汝 巴 。 此 护 法 特 别 有 利 于
净 除 个 人 事 业 上 的 违 缘 障 碍 , 并 化 解 纠 纷 , 同
时 能 令 团 体 中 的 修 行 者 的 人 数 增 长 。 此 外 , 也
将 修 持 特 别 的 消 灾 净 障 法 会 。 在 这 两 天 的 净 障
法 会 中 , 将 会 特 别 制 造 一 个 立 体 的 框 架 , 并 系
上 各 种 颜 色 的 绳 子 , 之 后 在 净 障 仪 式 中 焚 化 。
此 净 障 焚 化 仪 式 将 会 在 第 二 天 进 行 , 当 天 也 将
会 举 行 一 场 荟 供 。 参 加 者 必 须 携 带 一 小 块 个 人
穿 着 过 的 布 料 到 场 焚 化 , 这 将 更 为 有 效 。
在 西 藏 拉 萨 , 位 于 著 名 的 卓 康 寺 附 近 有 一 座
小 寺 - 须 弥 宁 巴 寺 , 为 贡 噶 朱 顶 所 管 辖 , 里 头
供 奉 了 大 黑 天 婆 罗 门 汝 巴 的 圣 像 。 此 大 黑 天 圣
像 闻 名 遐 尔 , 善 信 络 绎 不 绝 , 其 供 养 足 以 支 付
当 时 贡 噶 寺 及 其 三 千 僧 众 所 有 经 费 。 此 奇 迹 乃
源 自 藏 族 由 来 对 大 黑 天 护 法 强 烈 的 信 心 , 坚 信
此 护 法 确 能 净 除 障 碍 , 成 办 众 事 。
莲 花 生 大 士 法 会
仁 波 切 及 贡 噶 僧 众 也 将 主 持 为 期 两 天 的 莲 花 生
大 士 法 会 , 称 作 “ 密 集 八 章 ”, 或 于 藏 历 初 十
修 持 时 , 称 为 “ 哲 楚 ”。 此 特 别 法 会 每 日 将 以
荟 供 作 结 束 , 并 将 供 以 甘 露 水 及 长 寿 丸 , 其 功
德 也 将 回 向 往 生 者 。
萨 迦 派 与 莲 花 生 大 士 素 有 殊 胜 渊 源 , 此 源 于 萨
迦 昆 拿 耿 拉 世 挞 为 莲 花 生 大 士 首 席 弟 子 之 一 。
莲 花 生 大 士 曾 亲 自 授 予 他 许 多 珍 贵 的 灌 顶 与 佛

法 , 并 延 续 至 今 。 那 南 多 杰 度 仲 亦 是 莲 花 生 大
士 的 首 席 弟 子 之 一 。 莲 花 生 大 士 当 时 便 预 见 贡
噶 多 杰 登 巴 昆 嘎 南 杰 为 那 南 多 杰 仲 的 转 世 。
尊 贵 的 贡 噶 杜 杰 登 巴 仁 波 切 及 其 僧 众 将 于
2011 年 1 月 2 日 假 本 寺 大 殿 修 此 殊 胜 法 会 。
文 殊 师 利 菩 萨 口 传
文 殊 师 利 菩 萨 是 佛 陀 的 八 大 近 侍 菩 萨 之 一 , 是
诸 佛 般 若 智 慧 的 化 身 , 亦 是 萨 迦 传 承 的 重 要 本
尊 菩 萨 之 一 。 因 此 尊 贵 的 贡 噶 多 杰 登 巴 仁 波 切
将 于 12 月 19 日 假 本 寺 大 殿 赐 予 文 殊 菩 萨 的 两
个 最 重 要 的 口 传 。 这 实 是 莫 大 的 加 持 。
《 文 殊 师 利 礼 赞 文 》 口 传
对 藏 传 佛 教 的 所 有 派 系 而 言 ,《 文 殊 师 利 礼 赞
文 》 是 十 分 关 键 的 赞 颂 。 此 礼 赞 文 是 赞 颂 荣 耀
的 本 觉 智 慧 的 圆 满 特 质 。 虽 然 有 传 说 此 礼 赞 文
乃 由 印 度 大 师 瓦 加 育 达 所 撰 写 , 但 据 说 , 当 时
伟 大 的 那 兰 达 寺 的 五 百 名 班 智 达 各 自 撰 写 了 此
礼 赞 文 , 之 后 才 发 觉 他 们 所 作 出 的 礼 赞 文 是 一
模 一 样 的 。 故 此 赞 颂 有 着 巨 大 的 加 持 。
任 何 人 只 要 领 受 过 大 乘 的 归 依 , 都 欢 迎 您 于 12
月 19 日 到 来 参 加 并 领 受 此 殊 胜 的 文 殊 菩 萨 口
传 。 仁 波 切 也 将 开 示 此 礼 赞 文 的 意 义 , 以 及 念
诵 的 功 德 利 益 。 这 对 学 生 的 学 习 特 别 有 帮 助 。
《 文 殊 师 利 名 号 之 赞 颂 》 口 传
在 金 刚 乘 中 , 此 《 文 殊 师 利 名 号 之 赞 颂 》 是 十
分 重 要 的 佛 教 典 籍 。 在 尊 贵 的 萨 迦 崔 津 法 王 的
指 示 下 , 每 年 的 萨 迦 祈 愿 大 法 会 中 都 会 念 诵
此 赞 颂 。 过 去 的 诸 佛 皆 开 示 过 , 现 在 的 诸 佛
亦 开 示 着 , 未 来 诸 佛 亦 将 开 示 。 在 密 续 中 如
此 开 示 :
“ 不 识 文 殊 赞 颂 者 ,
不 识 普 贤 如 来 本 觉 智 慧 身 ;
不 识 普 贤 如 来 本 觉 智 慧 身 者 ,
不 识 真 言 乘 ;
不 识 真 言 乘 者 , 仍 在 轮 回 中 ……
故 尊 胜 的 上 师 开 示 文 殊 赞 颂 , 而 精 进 求 出 离 的
善 弟 子 应 谛 听 之 。”
因 此 , 金 刚 乘 修 行 者 务 必 领 受 此 不 共 的 《 文 殊
师 利 名 号 之 赞 颂 》 口 传 。 虽 然 一 般 上 , 此 赞 颂
与 瑜 伽 密 续 相 关 , 但 任 何 人 若 已 经 领 受 过 金
刚 乘 的 灌 顶 , 皆 可 于 12 月 19 日 出 席 并 参 加 法
会 , 向 仁 波 切 领 受 此 殊 胜 口 传 。
乘 狮 文 殊 授 权 灌 顶
除 了 以 上 的 口 传 外 , 本 寺 也 祈 请 仁 波 切 于 12 月
19 日 赐 传 甚 深 的 乘 狮 文 殊 授 权 灌 顶 。 在 此 修 法
中 , 大 智 文 殊 菩 萨 的 身 边 伴 随 着 妙 音 天 女 ( 也
称 辩 才 天 女 )。 文 殊 菩 萨 法 能 令 智 慧 增 长 , 而
妙 音 天 女 法 能 增 长 聪 慧 与 辩 才 。
此 灌 顶 与 修 持 的 究 竟 目 的 是 为 了 证 得 文 殊 菩 萨
的 圆 满 果 位 , 也 既 是 诸 佛 的 本 觉 智 慧 。 此 外 ,
也 能 广 利 学 习 , 令 我 们 获 得 各 种 聪 慧 与 才 智 ,
并 能 增 长 辩 才 。
参 加 者 必 须 至 少 已 领 受 过 两 天 的 行 部 密 续 灌 顶
或 如 喜 金 刚 等 更 高 深 的 灌 顶 , 才 可 领 受 此 乘 狮
文 殊 授 权 灌 顶 。 此 灌 顶 将 不 要 求 参 加 者 承 诺 任
何 的 持 咒 功 课 , 但 将 重 点 教 授 参 加 者 培 养 二 菩
提 心 , 并 精 进 地 持 守 个 人 的 誓 言 、 戒 律 。。
