These resources are provided as a starting point for grantees to identify content and
applications for use in their proposed new media strategy. This list is representative
http://www.cdc.gov/actagainstaids/resources/
Act Against AIDS is a five-year national campaign launched by the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the White House
to combat complacency about HIV and AIDS in the United States.
Launched in 2009, Act Against AIDS focuses on raising awareness among
all Americans and reducing the risk of infection among the hardest-hit
populations – gay and bisexual men, African Americans, Latinos, and
other communities at increased risk. The campaign offers free campaign
materials for use in prevention efforts.
2. SAMHSA treatment locator: http://findtreatment.samhsa.gov/
If someone you know needs help for alcohol or drug abuse problems or
Treatment Facility Locator was created for just this purpose. The
Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator is an online searchable
directory providing the location and services of more than 11,000 alcohol
and drug abuse treatment facilities and programs in the United States. It
also includes facilities in Puerto Rico, Guam, the Federated States of
Micronesia, Palau, and the Virgin Islands.
3. HIV testing site and care services locator API: http://aids.gov/locator/
The HIV/AIDS Prevention & Service Provider Locator is a location-based
search tool that allows you to search for testing services, housing
providers, health centers and other service providers near your current
location. API stands for application programming interface, and is a way
for data to be shared in a flexible and open way. This allows for many
different uses of the data, by many different groups and individuals.
4. Ryan White Medical Care Provider Locator:
http://www.healthdata.gov/data/dataset/find-ryan-white-hivaids-medical-careproviders,
