B. Four double elimination District Tournaments of four teams each will be held both in<br />

the Upper State and the Lower State. The District Tournaments will begin on<br />

Thursday, April 30.<br />

District Tournament<br />

A. The highest seeded team will host games 1, 2, 3, and 4. The undefeated team will<br />

host game 6 and 7 (if necessary). If game 7 is necessary, it will be played 30<br />

minutes after completion of the first game and a coin toss will determine the home<br />

team.<br />

B. See brackets on pages 22 and 23.<br />

V. Upper and Lower State Championship<br />

A. The four district winners will advance to the Upper and Lower State Championships.<br />

B. The Champions from District 1, 4, 5, and 8 will host games 1 and 2. The winner of<br />

game 1 will host game 4. The loser of game 2 will host game 3. The loser of game<br />

4 will host game 5. The undefeated team will host games 6 and 7. If game 7 is<br />

played the home team will be determined by a coin toss.<br />

VI.<br />

State Championship Series<br />

A. The winners of the upper and lower state play-offs will meet in a best two out of<br />

three game series for the state championship beginning Monday, May 18 and<br />

continuing on Wednesday, May 20 and Friday, May 22 if necessary unless agreed<br />

upon otherwise by both schools. In <strong>2008</strong>-<strong>09</strong>, the first game of the series will be<br />

played at the school representing the upper and the second game of the series will<br />

be played at the school representing the lower state.<br />

B. A third game, if necessary, will be played at a neutral site centrally located and<br />

secured by the upper state champion.<br />

1. Officials for this game will be secured by the <strong>League</strong> Office and selected from a<br />

neutral district.<br />

2. Coaches will toss a coin to determine home team.<br />

3. Security is the responsibility of both schools and each school must control fans.<br />

VII.<br />

Play-off Finances<br />

A. Upper/Lower State Tournaments<br />

1. Gate receipts will be disbursed according to the financial statement in the<br />

Athletic Directors' Notebook.<br />

2. Admission is $5.00.<br />

3. The host school is responsible for securing umpires through the local booking<br />

secretary.<br />
