G. Qualifying Meets<br />

1. Upper State – Heritage Park, Simpsonville (Eastside HS), November 1<br />

2. Lower State – Sandhills Research Center (Dreher HS) November 1<br />

H. State Meet Qualification<br />

1. Any eligible team member of a qualified team for the State Meet may be used to<br />

represent his school in the State Meet.<br />

2. Substitutes may not be used in place of qualifying individuals.<br />

I. The <strong>AAA</strong> Conference in cooperation with the <strong>South</strong> <strong>Carolina</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>League</strong><br />

and the <strong>South</strong> <strong>Carolina</strong> Track and Cross Country Coaches Association, will sponsor<br />

a State Championship Meet to determine the <strong>AAA</strong> State Cross Country Champions.<br />

J. Regulations for Qualifying and State Meets<br />

1. A school may be represented by individuals or a full team.<br />

2. State Meet entries must qualify through their assigned Qualifying Meet.<br />

3. Starting positions will be determined by a draw.<br />

4. Team scores will be determined by totaling the numerical position of the first five<br />

runners from each team. The low aggregate scores will determine team<br />

positions.<br />

5. A non-team runner’s place will be omitted when determining team scores, and<br />

each runner will advance in the order of their finish. <strong>School</strong>s must run a full team<br />

(5 Runners) to be eligible for the State Meet.<br />

6. Ties will be broken according to the rules book. (The team with the first 6 th place<br />

finisher will be the higher place team.)<br />

A. Schedule Due - September 1<br />

B. 1st Practice – August 1<br />

C. 1st Scrimmage - August 8<br />

D. Eligibility Due - 7 days prior to first contest<br />

E. 1st contest – September 1<br />

F. Deadline to report State Meet Entries - October 17<br />

G. Qualifying Meets Completed By – November 1<br />

H. State Meet - November 8 Sandhills Research Park, Columbia<br />
