Happy New Year! Sorry I didn’t come with a
first foot, had a bit of a manic one, and let’s face it,
February’s almost upon us. Don’t you just hate the
fact that the year’s over and you’ve tanned a bottle
of Clinique’s finest before you know it? Fuck the
“savings” - get yourself out and about, life’s too
short!
Our wee Scene’s holding up, all your
favourites are still here – and there are loads of
shinnanigans to be had. Out Nightclub, open Wed-
Sun night, is always a great night out, wherever
you start your night, if you’re anything like me,
you’ll finish it here! The Gauger’s open 7 days a
week, it’s always great for a lunch time tipple (not
that I’m a raging alkie that needs my lunchtime fix
– much) and the new kid on the block – Brooks, is
a great pre-club bar! I ventured up there for the
first time properly last weekend - it looks great
inside and was rather packed which is always a
great sign. If you love Wii (the games console –
dirty bitches), then make sure you head to Brooks
on a Sun - see you there, I’ll be judging your back
hand from the corner!
I’ve not ventured to Jock’s Sauna as yet,
although, need to pop in and meet the guys soon -
with the Xmas/New Year festivities over, feel free to
pop in and chill out, they’re open Sun-Thu Noon-
10pm, Fri and Sat Noon-11pm, check them out on
Facebook or online.
I was asked a couple of weeks ago if I was
interested in DJing a new gay night in Dundee,
there’s a club that’s due to re-open and they’re
thinking of holding a gay night on a Sun - variety is
the spice of life eh? I’ll let you know if I find out
any more details, oh, and I said no to the gig you’ll
be pleased to know – I can’t mix for toffee!

GLASGOW
Well, Amen, the festive period is well and
truly over and you can all stuff your tinsel where
the sun don’t shine! Currently breathing one great
big sigh of relief and can come out of my
hibernation period once more (nae luck chuck lol).
Glasgow, as always, is bhoyant and intoxicated,
just how we like it! So let us all get rid of those
January blues once and for all and go out… hmm
where to go, where to go? Any ideas? Didn’t think
so, so thank God I have it all well and truly under
control. Here is how it’s gonna go!
The newest addition to the Scene….quite
aptly named “Scene” are pulling out all the stops
this month, with a veritable feast of fresh ways to
spend your hard earned cash , plus there are
plenty of hotties behind the bar (which is always a
bonus)!!! Every Tue they have got “Dole or No
Dole”, hosted by Drag Idol winner Vanity Von Glow
who’ll be offering up her Giro as the prize – this
stretches right up to £250 so someone must have
been putting in for a crisis loan or two!!! This
kicks off at 10pm but it’s prob advisable to get
there early as it’ll no doubt be busy, busy and who
doesn’t like free cash thrown at them – there is
a credit crunch going on ffs!!! Let us also not
forget the brand spanking new pool table that
the bar has just got in, already proving popular
and an excellent way to pass the time. If only I
could play. For the love of God will somebody
just teach me! If you think you’re up to the job
drop me a line and I will buy you a pint!
It’s unavoidable to mention Feb without
touching on that most romantic of days… yes,
’tis Valentine’s time!!! Love it or loathe it, 14th
Feb is fast approaching, a night for couples to
head out and flaunt their loved up status in the
singletons’ faces and for the singletons to hit
the bar as hard and give couples dirty looks!!!
Or cop off with those in the same boat and at
the very least have a story to tell on Mon
morning? All the main clubs and bars have
events on, so get out to your local and try
something new -you never know, you just

Mon night for any of you needing a
social fix after Byblos cancelling their
gay night.
This has been a cunt of a month
and, boy oh boy, am I glad it’s done!
Now amigos, it’s time to boogie on out
of this padded cell (ask no questions
and I shall tell no lies!). Big thank you to
all the Waterloo Staff who raised an
amazing £1569 for the Brownlee Unit at
Gartnavel Hospital on their charity night
- I hear it was a great night for a great
cause and you all did so well! Take care
