• PRWMA is governed by an elected board of
seven. These seven board members are chosen
yearly at the AGM
• There are three representatives from the Rural
Municipalities and three from the Urban areas
and one member chosen at large.
• These positions are for a 1 year term and
elections are held at each A.G.M.

• We are now collecting all paper fiber from all
members.
• The amount collected has risen to more than
500 metric tonnes per year.
• We are in the planning stages of a central
landfill
• We will soon be able to begin the closure of the
unacceptable sites.

• We have purchased a suitable property that
will support a central landfill
• We had a consultant drill to prove adequate
depth of clay before purchase of the land.
• The cost of the first drilling and consultants
report was over $13,000.00
• After finding the property suitable we dealt
with any neighbors concerns .
• A second drilling has been done at a cost of
over $25,000.00
• We will have a central landfill that will serve
all our members in the near future

• The property cost was about $70,000.00
• The consultant’s fees will cost over $60,000 to
satisfy Sask Environments requirements
• We have found funding to cover these
expenses with the grants available.
• Most of our members have committed gas tax
dollars to this project which partnered with the
Provincial and Federal funds should see us to
completion of our central landfill
• We are waiting for the consultant to obtain a
permit to construct before tendering.

• We will certainly continue to pick up and
dispose of all paper fiber.
• We were asked to find a method of removing
tin from the waste stream but are not yet ready
to begin the as cost is too high.
• We are now removing the plastic bags from the
waste stream.
• There are many more plastics high on our
priority list but.
• We wait on the ministry of environment to
complete their new MMRP.
• When that starts we will have the funding to
improve all our services.
