students may want to explore if they feel they are suffering

For medical students studying at Notre Dame, the
university offers free and confidential counselling services, in
which students can discuss with a professional counsellor any
personal or study-related issues that are impacting on their
mental wellbeing. The School of Medicine staff are extremely
helpful and can offer students a wide range of services which
may be utilised.
Of course above all this,
it’s vital for students to
always have their own
GP to turn to if they are
suffering from mental
distress or simply having
difficulties handling the
pressures that life has
thrown at them. Like any
other form of illness, the
earlier you begin treatment
the more effective the outcome.
Because at the end of the day, as
future doctors, it’s imperative we look
after ourselves before we can look after our patients.
