Valleys were cut into the underlying shelf muds during sea level lowstands, and filled during transgressive episodes. Upper Morrow sandstone reservoirs have produced in excess of 280 million barrels of oil and 3.3 TCF gas from the northwestern shelf of the Anadarko basin and Hugoton embayment in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas.
