JJ’s Puppy Rescue Association is a Spanish
Registered Charity with a Management
Committee, Association Members, Volunteer
Helpers and Foster Carers.
Last month
we rescued
v a r i o u s
abandoned
puppies. We
still have 25
puppies and
dogs in our
care which all
need a loving
home as
some of them
have been in our foster kennels over three
years with very little chance of being homed
locally. To give these dogs the chance they
deserve we
a r e
continuing
our concerted
effort to find
homes for
them abroad
with the help
of Rescue
Organisations
in the UK and
Holland. The
cost of Neutering, Blood Tests, Vaccinations,
Micro-chips and Passports in preparation for
these dogs to go to their new homes puts a
huge strain on our available funds. To help us
raise the funds for this additional cost we are
dependent on public support and generosity.
The Charity Shop in Puerto de Mazarrón is
located near the Arbol Supermarket and is
staffed entirely by volunteers. Any unwanted
saleable items that can be sold in our charity
shop or table top sales to raise funds will
be gratefully received. We can arrange for
donated items to be collected by one of our
Association Members. We also need volunteer
helpers who can give some of their free time
to work in our Charity Shop, so if you would
like to help come in and have a chat with the
staff.

Well, what a great year 2012 proved to be.
From start to finish the year far exceeded
my expectations, and as a Church, we are
so thankful to all of you out there, who supported
us, trusted us and who gave us opportunity
to minister the love of God into
our community.
Most of our Church activities during the
past year, apart from our weekly Sunday
services, have taken place in the community;
from midweek home groups, our Good
Friday open air service on Mazarrón Paseo,
the Camposol Fiesta, FAST Christmas Fayre,
Remembrance Sunday Service on Camposol,
to the Mazarrón Tanatorio Star Service and
Christmas Carol Concerts on all four Camposol
Sectors. We have so enjoyed being outside
the walls of our Church building; this is
what Church should really be about!
When Wellspring Victory Church was
formed seven years ago, we were determined
to be a different kind of Church.
Although the Victory family is made up of
over 2000 Churches in over 40 Nations of
the world, each individual Church reaches
out in an individual way. The needs here
in Spain are very different from that of some
other nations and we wanted to be prepared
to touch our community in whatever way we
could. I believe that 2013 will not be an easy
year for many here on the Costa Cálida, but
as a fellowship, we will be out there among
you, to do, with God’s help, whatever we
can.
I pray that you will have a blessed 2013;
no doubt there will be difficulties and problems
that will arise during the year, so I will
end this article with Psalm 23; I trust it will
bring you hope and peace for the coming
year, [no matter what comes your way].
‘The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing’
– David acknowledges God as his shepherd
King [carer and protector], and has full
confidence in his future… in the King’s house
there would be no lack.
‘He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters’
- David would be content, and would experience
security, rest and refreshment. Green
pastures mean a place to flourish.
‘He refreshes my soul, He guides me
along the right paths for His name’s
sake’ – The shepherd leads His sheep to
safety and well-being. David’s life would be
secure and safe as he followed the shepherd.
‘Even though I walk through the darkest
valley, I will fear no evil, for you are
with me; your rod and your staff, they
comfort me’ – David, even when surrounded
by great peril, being with the shepherd
would provide his support, care, protection
and reassurance.
‘You prepare a table before me in the
presence of my enemies. You anoint my
head with oil; my cup overflows’ – David
would be fed at the Kings table – a place of
protection, plenty and friendship; he would
be the honoured guest.
‘Surely your goodness and love will follow
me all the days of my life, and I will
dwell in the house of the Lord forever’
– David would experience the shepherd’s
goodness and unfailing love and pursue him
for the rest of his life.
Some people say that it is difficult to find
God. This Psalm tells us that God actually
pursues us. In the words of Author Max
Lucado ‘Dare we envision a mobile, active
God who chases us, tracks us, following us
with goodness and mercy all the days of our
lives? He’s not hard to find’
God’s love for you is constant and unchanging.
