1Display between songs<br />

When in the KARAOKE MODE (when the KARAOKE<br />

MODE indicator on the front panel is lit), during pause or<br />

when a disc has stopped playing, karaoke bird<br />

characters are displayed.<br />

When no disc is loaded<br />

Echo adjustment<br />

Adjust with the digital echo level knob.<br />

Note<br />

Depending on the room, there may be howling if the echo level<br />

is too high (page 31).<br />

• With <strong>DV</strong>Ds, some discs may have a Menu function. With this<br />

kind of disc, since operations are in line with menu selections,<br />

there is no SINGLE PLAY mode. In addition, there is no<br />

karaoke bird.<br />

• When playing a Super VCD/Video CD that has Playback Control<br />

with Playback Control on (page 23), there is no the SINGLE<br />

PLAY mode. In addition, there is no karaoke bird between<br />

songs.<br />

• With the KARAOKE MODE (when the KARAOKE MODE<br />

indicator on the front panel is lit), depending on the TV you’re<br />

using and mic volume level, there may be distortion when<br />

playing <strong>DV</strong>Ds, CDs or Super VCDs/Video CDs. In this case, set<br />

the ATTENUATOR switch on the rear panel to on.<br />

Adjusting to Create the<br />

Press KEY CONTROL.<br />

Each button can be used to raise or lower the key in 5 steps.<br />

High: The key is raised<br />

Low: The key is lowered<br />

Note<br />

Adjustments can also be made at “Key Control” in the Karaoke<br />

Setup menu.<br />

Operation is possible with the mic<br />

Once more<br />

• Each time you press this during play, you move back a little<br />

from the point you are in the song and the video.<br />

• You can use this to repeat difficult sections in songs you are<br />

singing for the first time.<br />

• Once more operation may not be possible with some discs.<br />

Mic jacks & Mic control jack<br />

• Any <strong>Pioneer</strong> microphone with key control function can<br />

be used. Refer to the mic’s User’s Manual for details<br />

concerning Key control operation.<br />

• The mic operation buttons will not function unless the<br />

jack is connected to the mic control jack and the mic<br />

switch is turned on.<br />
