mileage and guaranteed redemption value,<br />
Brune can either take over the vehicle with<br />
one final payment or return it to <strong>Setra</strong> –<br />
balancing out any mileage discrepancies or<br />
damage to the vehicle by the end of the<br />
contract. Of course, it is also possible to<br />
order and take advantage of attractive<br />
financing on a new coach.<br />
For Markus Brune, working with Mercedes-<br />
Benz and <strong>Setra</strong> Sales proved successful<br />
once again. “The financing model suits my<br />
business one hundred percent.” Would<br />
he do it again? “Most definitely! We are<br />
even considering purchasing another new<br />
<strong>Setra</strong> this year, an S 416 GT-HD/3.” And of<br />
course, once again through the Mercedes-<br />

Cash purchase, loan or lease – selecting the right financing when buying a coach can determine an<br />
investment’s profitability. Here, we are pleased to profile Brune Busse from Gelsenkirchen as an<br />
example of a well-suited financing model.<br />

he Mercedes-Benz Bank is the<br />
German subsidiary of Daimler<br />
Financial Services. The Daimler<br />
Group’s global financial service provider,<br />
active in over 40 countries, is the most<br />
international automotive financial service<br />
provider worldwide. Its offering encompasses<br />
customised financial services,<br />
financing, leasing, insurance and fleet<br />
management for <strong>Setra</strong> and the Daimler<br />
Group’s other brands.<br />
Since 2002, the Brune Busse company<br />
from Gelsenkirchen has financed several<br />
minibuses for the transportation of students<br />
and disabled passengers through the<br />
Mercedes-Benz Bank. Under the motto<br />
“We move people”, Brune offers business,<br />
school, association and club trips at home<br />
and abroad. The fleet includes coaches of<br />
all sizes, with space for 8 to 60 passengers.<br />
In 2012, the first new <strong>Setra</strong> vehicle was<br />
added to the fleet.<br />
Managing Director Markus Brune had long<br />
been keeping an eye on his “dream coach”,<br />
the <strong>Setra</strong> Final Edition S 415 GT-HD. At the<br />
2012 RDA, he spoke to the Mercedes-Benz<br />
Bank about vehicle financing options. “The<br />
Final Edition is a proven, super-equipped,<br />
reliable, safe and exceptionally fuel-efficient<br />
vehicle. And that’s why it fits perfectly<br />
into my fleet,” Brune points out. “As a responsible<br />
operator, you need to take a very<br />
close look at things when making an investment<br />
like this. <strong>Setra</strong> and the Mercedes-<br />
Benz Bank deliver a very sound overall<br />
concept.”<br />
The Bank’s financing model is perfectly<br />
tailored to the needs of Brune Busse, while<br />
representing an extremely flexible solution.<br />

Mercedes-Benz Bank bus and coach advisors offer expert advice<br />
on all matters relating to vehicle financing. In close cooperation<br />
with <strong>Setra</strong> Sales, a needs analysis is carried out for the operator, in<br />
which a customised financing plan is tailored to the customer’s<br />
financial circumstances.<br />
The financing models are based on the company’s fleet size and<br />
mobility requirements. Additionally, seasonal rates can be agreed<br />
to – whereby companies with more business in the summer would<br />

during the winter months. Also, rates can be determined based on<br />
the length of the contract – the longer the contract, the lower the<br />
rates. The Mercedes-Benz Bank offers financing terms of up to<br />
10 years, significantly longer than other vehicle manufacturers. Yet<br />
another advantage: if a customer finances and insures a vehicle<br />
through Mercedes-Benz, they enjoy a discount of 10 percent on<br />
their insurance premium.
