Setra Editorial | 03
Dear customers and friends of the Setra brand,
I am delighted to greet you here for the first time in my role as Head of Marketing, Sales
and Aftersales. I have already had the pleasure of meeting many of you in person. And, on
my very first day in this new position, I could distinctly feel what it means to be part of the
Setra family.
At the very beginning of this new year, we made some changes to our sales organisation.
And, a now independent EvoBus sales organisation in Germany bears witness to the significance
of the German market. Axel Stokinger, a long-standing expert in the world of
coaches and buses many of you have already worked with, has taken over the helm of this
area. Heinz Friedrich, who you also know well, will continue to be at your service as Sales
Manager for Setra in Germany. Beyond this, very little will be changing in your everyday
dealings with our sales team. Almost everywhere, your contacts will remain the same.
The last few months were shaped by the market launch of the new ComfortClass 500.
Whether at the presentation in Stuttgart, at the IAA or other events in Europe, I repeatedly
heard exceptionally positive feedback on the new series. The interest these new coaches
are inciting is high and, in this issue, you will find several very interesting articles addressing
the ComfortClass 500. Personally, I am especially impressed with the Record Run test
drive. It proved without a doubt that we have achieved one of our key objectives with the
ComfortClass 500: in spite of Euro VI, lower fuel consumption than the ComfortClass 400
with Euro V. Beginning on page 8, you can read how the consumption test was run under
DEKRA’s very watchful eyes. In addition to the articles on the ComfortClass 500, you can
once again look forward to an exciting mix of informative service content, in-depth reports
and fascinating news from the Setra family.
We wish you very pleasurable and informative reading!
Best personal regards
After 7,000 kilometres during the Record Run Buses 2012, it’s clear: Setra’s new ComfortClass 500 with Euro VI
combines the cleanest exhaust with the lowest consumption
